roro, one of my best friends is a cosmetics SA in NYC, she gets the best stuff! tad, its pricy but the Oscillation works... what I love about Sephora, if something doesn't work, back it goes! you can't beat that kind of a guarantee

ooohhh, roro. tell us your secrets. i used to be a huge makeup addict too and i've always thought it would be so fun to be a cosmetics sa. surrounded by all those pretty products promising big results... :girlsigh:

It was so much fun. It's a funny story. I was a stay at home mom that used to shop at Nordstrom and the Stila counter all the time. One day, I received a call at home and the Stila manager called me and asked me if I wanted to work there! She was moving to Seattle to work for Nordstrom up there and she suggested me to the owner of the company. It was really weird. I didn't really know her, but I thought it would be fun to get out of the house for awhile. I had to go to Stila headquarters and "try out" for Jeanine Lobell, the owner/makeup artist. I had no idea what I was doing, but I faked it and got the job. It was fun, because it was before Stila was bought up by Estee Lauder and became a big corporate co. I got lots of free stuff and I was also able to work as a makeup artist freelance for Philosophy and other lines. In between all this, my husband had an affair, left me with three small kids and that job really got me through some hard times (kept my mind off things). I ended up leaving and going back to what I used to do, but it was a really fun job and I, to this day, am still the go-to makeupartist for all my daughter's friends when proms and formals come around. It is funny to see their eyes pop when I bring out all my makeup. Also, it was surprisingly good pay (Nordstrom is the best place to work if you are a S.A.) but I wish I was this into handbags back then. I could have received a great discount!!

I know that all the salesgirls wanted to work for Lancome, because they made so much money. Everyone shopped at Lancome and when gift with purchase came around, they raked it in!

Okay....I am going to brave the mall. Just my local mall (nothing exciting there), but I have to exchange some clothes I bought for my daughters and I am hoping to get in and get out before the masses arrive.

thanks! i get asked almost everyday by customers if my lashes are false bc they are so naturally long and thick. my mascara helps a lot - this is what i've been using for years, but sephora just discontinued it, so ive been ordering off the internet!

i just ordered it too tuff! i'm also a mascara junkie...i've tried some higher end brands but i always go back to my cover girl lash exact...i love that brush so i'm wondering how i'll do with the lancome's comb thingy :sweatdrop: but i'm excited to try! :p

Wow, Roro! That's incredible - I can't believe you actually got to meet Jeanine Lobell! So cool, all of it!! (Except the bastard ex-husband part, obviously!) I have always been a total makeup junkie. For a very long time it was my dream to open a Sephora-like boutique in my hometown. I would seriously consider applying at Nordies if it wasn't a 45 minute drive, I was way cooler and likely to actually get hired, and if retail hours didn't suck out loud. Weekends and holidays? No thanks! But the perks have to be incredible!

i'm pretty good! just got done re-organizing my dd's room to make room for her new stuff....lol

and i'm downloading some new songs! btw my dh loves his ipod shuffle! lol...he looks like a college kid walkin around with his ear buds on...lol...i've been picking on him about it :p

Hey, girls! Sorry you have to work, June.

We're having my MIL, her hubby, DH's step-sister and her family over tomorrow and my house isn't clean and I have no idea what I'm cooking. I'm just feeling icky today and really don't even care. We may order the traditional Christmas pizza for them, lol.
