the personal trainer was great but she is even more expensive than the medifast stuff! 12 sessions with the trainer is about $800, which would last only 6 weeks if i went 2x a week.
i learned a lot from her in the sessions we had so i'll incorporate those. my biggest hardship (really) is eating. if it's planned out, ready to go, etc, then i can do it. i had success on jenny craig years ago but stopped b/c the 'counselor' there blew me off.
again, i know it's drastic, but i need drastic. i need a kick in the pants. others with pcos/diabetes/other hormonal or insulin issues have had success on this so i'm gonna give it a go. i ordered the diabetic plan since it's low-glycemic, which is what i need.

oh - and i'm gonna see how it goes. if i feel like crap, totally hate it, or whatever, i won't continue. but i know i will have an adjustment period at least. ;)

I hear you on the food. It's just so hard to resist. And also, if you are busy and can't prepare food, you are more prone to eating junk.

Good luck on the Medifast. :flowers: I really hope this works for you!

Dawn, I've actually checked into Medifast. It seems like a great program, and I wish you much success! If you decide to try it, please let me know how your experience is.

Last week I checked out a local program here in Greenwich, a world renowned center for eating disorders, and criminy, they want $2K for a 8 week program, which is mostly based on cognitive behavior therapy. I know it works because I've heard good things about them, but man, thats a huge chunk of change.

thanks cat
i know it's not for everyone but i am really excited. :)

that IS a huge chunk of change!!! yikes! is there any kind of trial day or tour or something you can do to review it and make sure it's a good fit?
