Hey I have a question for all city bag owners, I’ve always had a love for the bags my mom got me interested in them specifically the city first, I’m finally able to afford my own instead of borrowing hers and i’ve gotten the #115748 year 2015 in a blood red (used) I’m currently at work so I’ve attached photos from the sellers page for reference (I will upload current photos later as they took it to be serviced before shipping out)
My biggest concern is the knot usually poking out slightly under the handle, I can see looking up that’s there’s a knot but I can’t see it for the 3 other sides are there any bags that maybe after some wear you no longer see the knot or they stopped making them as visible? I know as of their recent collection the knot isn’t visible but considering the bag is older I’m a bit torn
I already payed to have it Authenticated by Vestiaire but I’m thinking of trying to find a place in Manhattan to authenticate it in person I’m just struggling to find a reputable authenticator at the moment and they only give free returns after a week & a half

I don't know what you mean by the knot. You mean the knot at the end of the handle's lacing?
Yes right before the connector ring , I’ve been trying to look up info about it but I’ve only seen 1 YouTuber talk about it
The knots visibility is not what determines authenticity. get a picture of the tag (front and back) and the bale - which is part of the single strap that connects to the bag.
Is your concern about the knot related to authenticity or just not liking the look or thinking it's a sign of too much wear? If you just don't like how it looks, you can try to push it further into the handle, tuck it in a bit more. It won't always be completely concealed.
