The tumbled leather feels divine to the touch because I just love the pebbly feel of the leather. There is also little maintenance needed for this type of leather. With the tumbled leather, for some reason, the smell of the leather is pretty overpowering. I find the leather odor a bit annoying sometimes but hopefully, the strong odor will subside soon. Of all the bags, this bag is probably the most travel friendly because you can actually collapse it. In fact, when it arrived, the bag was actually folded flat. I had to do a double take because I didn't expect it to be flattened! The size of the mini tumbled bucket also seemed smaller or shorter in height at first but after doing a quick compare, it is actually the same size as the others. I think the slouch of the bag makes it look smaller in size.
As for the calf leather, it is the smoothest of all. There are some natural wrinkling along the creases of where the leather bends but I love the glow that the calf leather gives off. Maybe this is because I conditioned it with apple conditioner which I got from Amazon. I've only had the chance to use this calf leather bag and found that it doesn't require a lot of care. However, if you tend to carry a lot of stuff, you have to be careful about it swinging around when you bend down etc. I actually scratched the back somehow. The marks were less noticeable only after I reapplied the apple conditioner.
Finally, for the saffiano leather, it seems like it will not require any maintenance! The leather reminds me of the LV canvas material which to me appears to be indestructible. The leather is stiff and so, when you try cinch the top of the bag, it requires some pulling in order to secure the top of the bag. I really like the color contrast though..I love all three types of leather!

Thank you so much for doing this comparison! I have a saffiano and a veg tanned and I definitely notice that I'm much more careful with the veg tanned!

I did pre-order 2 bucket bags w them white/royal but due to my small frame it hangs below my bum and there is no way to shorten the strap w/o literally cutting some off and making some holes. So i went to barneys to return. I told them i wanted a mini instead. Simply wrote my name and phone number down. Then they called me when the bag got in stock - pretty much when they get a bag they will call down the list and whoever comes in first come first serve. I missed their calls due to business travel, so i went in randomly to check if there were any that day. I told them i really wanted the mini, they looked up the stock, I love white/royal combo, so they found one in brooklyn store. The SA called the brooklyn store, i placed order then and there in philadelphia store w my credit cards and it was shipped to me from brooklyn. That easy! (Though my narrative prob makes it sound complicated)

The sweet icing is that the mini bucket white/royal from barneys are priced at $495 (i think mg website it went to 610) and bc they shipped to a city w/o a barneys i paid no taxes! (I had to travel again for business so i had it shipped to my destination, turned out no barneys there, so sales tax!)

Can I ask if Barney's charged you for shipping the bag to you from another store? Just curious what their in-store practice is.

Barneys in brooklyn charged me $12 even though Barneys co-op in philly said no standard shipping charges/ shipping waived. They did not charge me sales tax which would have been 6-8% so i am happy with the outcome, though i think they would refund me the $12 if i insist.
