So the calf is a more finished type of leather. It was introduced later than the veg tanned but before the canvas and tumbled. And before the saffiano too I think. It is softer than the veg tanned, but not as soft/unstructured as the tumbled. It is now a staple option in mansur gavriel's lineup. It has historically come in flamma, royal, navy, and rosa, but I think MG will be introducing some new colors either in summer or fall - a medium pink, sand, and moss (a dark green?). Unlike the veg tanned it is not meant to patina and will not scratch/age as easily or as quickly. That said, when it does get damaged it doesn't patina in a good way like the veg tanned, if that makes sense. Anyone else want to chime in or does that cover it?

Yay! I just preordered a ladybag (regular not xl) for July/August when the new style is released! I chose the cammello/orange. If anyone else is interested I got it through Etc. on PS. Dept, and as of yesterday they still had a variety of colors available. If you're not on PS Dept you can just Google the store and call directly - it's in Alabama I think. Oh, and I also released a November/December cammello/azzurro large bucket preorder since I didn't want to get too spendy/greedy ;) fyi though - large buckets are jumping in price to $595 in fall/winter (confirmed with MG).

Got it! This whole time I was thinking those styles were the regular veg tanned (probably because I was more interested in the black color.) Thanks for the overview!

Hello everyone. Sooo I just got my hands on a tumbled mini in royal. Now prior to getting this bag I've only seen the saffiano white tote from Barney's.. I have not seen any of the bucket bags in person. First of all the bag seems extremely thin and cheap. The inside doesn't even seem "raw" to me. It practically feels like felt. Also it has this very bizarre smell to it. I have bought yummy leather smelling bags in the past and this just plain reeks. Thoughts? Is it just the tumbled leather? Does anyone else have a tumbled bucket they can tell me if this is normal or not. I'm just baffled that the tote was so lovely and now this.. It feels like a $20 bag. :( What a disappointment. btw I did buy this from a listed stockist on the MG site. Thanks.

How exciting! I love the look of the lady bag! Do you know the dimensions/size difference between the small and large? I wish I could get this, but it's a little spendy for me :P I will live vicariously through your pics haha :amuse:

So the regular is 10.5" h x 13.5" w x 5" d - kind of like a large bucket turned on its side. Not sure about the xl.

Sorry this took so long! See below for a variety of photos of the mini mini (in black/flamma). I tried to take a few mod shots as well and give an idea of how much you can fit compared to other bags. The two other bags featured are a LV Speedy 25 and LV Pouchette. I love how I can fit both my sunglasses and my headphones in the mini mini but still have it look small! Let me know if you have questions.
