I've been a little frustrated with MG and I've agreed with a lot of posters here...it's really frustrating to try to order something and having it NEVER be in stock!
I've wanted to order one in canvas but it's sold out everywhere....and there are so many here who have been SO loyal and waiting SO long for one...
I am one of the people who ordered the dooney and bourke bag...yes, it looks very much like the MG...I think that a lot of designers are "copying" the exterior of a bag one color and the interior another...the strap is different as is the inside of the bag, BUT, I do agree that they look very much alike...
that being said, I wanted a bag that I could just get already and didn't have to be put on a waiting list, etc...it's frustrating just reading what a lot of you are going through to get your bags and I hope that the next time they stock up that you all get the bags you want!!
shouldn't it be a little easier to get a bag, though? I just got the new InStyle magazine and they have the MG drawstring in red canvas and red leather and say that it can be purchased on Barney's website...not there...frustrating again...
maybe in the future it'll be easier to get an MG; I hope so!!!

My first bucket and still in love. Large black/blu. In heavy rotation since last July. Cleaned and conditioned for the first time last night using advice from the MG care thread
How much has your bag softened since you first got it? And how long did it take to soften?
not sure how long it took but it has softened a bit. I notice it most in the tie - that's definitely soft now and easy to tie. The bag itself still keeps its shape, but the side that rests against my body kind of presses into or molds against it. That said, it pops right back into shape when I put it down

Nope, did not treat in advance. (I did for a calf royal royal mini, but wanted to appreciate the patina process of the veg tanned.) I didn't have any super bad scratches before conditioning, just all over wear, although it definitely did soften the look of the marks that were there. The scratches are almost more like small dents, if that makes sense. I did have a bit of weird abrasion or something in one spot that it seemed to clean right up. Hope that helps.

Where the bag has been tied with the bow in the first pic, the stitching on the end of the strap seems a bit odd to me (I thought MG bag straps were stitched right to the end of the piece of leather)
In the second photo of the envelope wallet, the zip strap appears to have a silver/shiny metal bullet -- is this normal for MG bags purchased Dec 2014?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not an expert on MG bags but they look off to me. Especially the mini size doesn't come with a zip pouch, I wonder where that comes from.
