Hello, Simple question as you seems really well informed, do you know if you can exchange stones from an onyx to malachite ?
I have a 5 motifs bracelet in Onyx and I was thinking to get a malachite one as I do not wear often my Onyx.
you cannot, because the serial number of your piece is tied to a specific description in VCA's database, which includes the stone type. serial number is used for, among other things, authenticating the piece in the future.

If only I listened to all of you guys in regards to VCA being a slippery slope… So, I’m currently contemplating between getting malachite or carnelian bracelet. I love both, but malachite is my favourite. However, everywhere I look I see a huge “beware” sign. I still love my sweet mop set, but now, 5 years later, I see why whenever someone asked for advice, you kept recommending the vintage size.

I currently wear (24/7) the YG VA Guilloché pendant and bracelet, YG Frivole mini pave bracelet and mini earrings with emerald, Cartier XS D’amour bracelet. Occasionally I switch out from Frivole mini earrings to YG VA malachite earrings.

Although I love guilloche bracelet, I always preferred the look of 2 VA bracelets stacked vs wearing only 1 or wearing with bangle.

Given my both pair of VCA earrings contain green stones, it makes total sense to go with a malachite bracelet. But my VCA SA advised against it.

Out of all stones, I like only malachite & carnelian - both in dark hues.

Which one would you recommend? Or do you think it’s too much? My dainty bracelets I wear on my right wrist, while my VA on the left. What do you think?
Totally feel you — VCA really is a slippery slope

Between malachite and carnelian, honestly… if malachite makes your heart sing, I’d still lean that way — even if it’s “high maintenance.” It sounds like your overall style already incorporates green (those emerald Frivole minis and malachite VAs), so a malachite bracelet would pull it all together beautifully.
That said, I get why your SA might have warned you. Malachite is delicate and doesn’t love water or sweat, especially for something worn daily. If you’re someone who’s okay babying it a bit or not wearing it 24/7, it can be so worth it. The richness of the green is just unmatched.
Carnelian is definitely the more durable, worry-free option, and it would also look amazing with your warm YG stack. But since you clearly already lean toward green and enjoy wearing your malachite earrings, it makes sense to go with what feels “you.”
If it helps, maybe get the malachite now and down the line grab carnelian too — it sounds like both are calling your name anyway

Your setup sounds dreamy by the way — you clearly have a great eye!

Thank you for an advice, much appreciated☺️ In regards to green colour, well, both earrings were impulse purchases (aka the best/most favourite purchases). 90% of my wardrobe are in light sky blue and light heather grey colours, so I have not considered incorporating green until I saw VA malachite earrings in the stunning deep green with symmetrical striations.

Regarding the next bracelet to add, I’ve decided against carnelian at this time as I’m currently working on creating a more cohesive look overall. I just recently added the Cartier small JUC with diamonds to my right wrist and now I’m contemplating between VA in MOP (may be I’ll be lucky to come across the one with greenish hues) and VA malachite. What do you think?

I’m comfortable with malachite because I’m not sinking into a hot tub or showering with it.
My SA agreed, if you take your jewelry off before showering or swimming then there shouldn’t ever be a problem.

For how long do you have the malachite bracelet? And how often do you wear it? How is wear & tear?
