So your sister has been using the incorrect strap for two months, but it has not bothered her? In that case, unfortunately, I think that you will just have to realize that this is a couple hundred dollars mistake. It’s not your sales associate’s fault that you purchased an item erroneously and it has been used regularly. If it were new you might be able to swap it out but even then owing to the timing it would be a courtesy.
I do not use Apple products so I only asked the SA for the watch and was expecting to have taken the right items away from that purchase so the SA is not completely blameless in giving me the wrong item. As for my sister who actually uses the product, I'm not saying it's not her fault either but I feel pained that I was sold the wrong item in the first place.

I do think the SA made a mistake here but I would argue if your sister didn’t notice then she really doesn’t mind. The bands “work” with both sizes however there will be weird little “wing tips” sticking out where the band connects in your case. Since she used it extensively for two months, it’s kind of too late.

@saugalady did she notice the difference once she got the correct strap and is it better in her opinion? If so, it doesn’t hurt asking the store about it. You can explain that it was her first strap so she assumed it was correct but now that she can compare, she knows the difference and for the price point wants the right item.

You were buying a gift and relied on the SA’s expertise.

I think it is ok to ask almost anything as long as it is polite and respectful

Thanks! Just like @acrowcounted mentioned, the band works, just sticks out a little and not noticeable.

I have been invited to an Hermes sale event, but it is not good time for me to go . Wondering how /if at all that is going to have impact on my relationship with my SA and possible future invites for such sales. Do SA provide lists of customers from their rooster for an invite or is it purely driven by the corporate H and your spending $$? Does H /my SA actually see purchases done at a sale?

Are you talking about a sale (off site reduced prices) or an in store selling event? SAs don’t have input into sale invites and won’t care if you go or not. The entire thing is completely removed from them and the store. If you’re talking about an in-store selling event, like a RTW, Fine Jewelry, or Fragrance event, the SA does have input into those invites and usually select clients who have shown an interest in the specific category. However, even if it’s one of these events, your SA won’t really mind if you can’t go, they will just invite another client when you RSVP “no”.

I was referring to an off site sale event. I imagined SA would not care as this is run by a third party. Glad to have this clarity, thanks for sharing the perspective :)

Agreed with everything @acrowcounted said but stopping by to say how jealous I am. I’ll take your invite lol!

What I read somewhere was that if you didn’t buy at the sale event where you went, you would not be invited again next year (don’t know if true, never been) but RSVP no could lead to not be invited anymore in the future. Don’t know if that would be a consideration for you.

I just found out my SA is on leave. I knew something was up as I got an expired ooo response to a text I sent her. I hope things are ok with her, but bummed as there were a few items I wanted to look into. Should I go in and inquire as to what's going on, or just wait patiently for her return? Patience, however, is not my forte. I know, first world problems.

sorry to hear that ! i think if you don't know when she's coming back i would just go in and look into what you want/ need. I think we think too hard about Hermes. (trust me i know i do.. ) Or if you feel badly/ guilty then you can call store and ask the SM?

Would go into the H that you shop in & perhaps ask the SM to refer you to another SA til your
SA returns.
If she is do back within a few days, the SM would surely know that, but if there are items
you are specifically interested in, why not just pick up what you are interested in, surely your SA
will understand that since you received no response to your texts, you had to make a decision,
your call of course for whatever your comfort zone is

Being invited is always good.

Not being able to go: most clients are busy and only a fraction of invitees attend each event.

If it's just an outside sale (meaning, discounted items) Hermès does not care who goes or doesn't. Or what you buy or don't.

With internal events, of course be courteous, explain you can't go, and let them know you wish it had been possible. The only time non-attendance will affect you is if you respond with a "yes" and don't show, multiple times. Yes your SA can see what you buy at internal events in your country.

Stopped in today to pick up a pair of boots that had been ordered for me.

My SA brought up QBs and said that the new policy is one per year 😢😢😢. Me crying inside that just as I’ve decided I love these bags they are being even more restricted. She said they are prioritizing people who don’t have a bag at all.

(This may of course be just my store in the US - we serve almost the most area of any store but are not a flagship so stock is super limited)

Honestly cannot wait for the instagram/influencer Hermes trend to die a quick death.
