Theoretically yes, but as far as non quota bags go, a GP36 is probably one of the least impactful asks for this concern. If you actually want a GP36 then I’d say go for it. (And I’m pretty risk adverse in the H QB hunt game.)

Thanks. Do you think it would be okay to just straight up ask my SA?
Yes, while in person and purchasing other things “oh and if you ever see a Garden Party 36 in stock, I’d be very interested so please keep me in mind!”

They need to write to their SMs?! I don’t think I’ve experienced that! Usually my SA would call me with an offer already; a few times I got offered when I visited my SA would just talk to the SM, not enough time to write a proposal. Wow it’s really cutthroat out there. I don’t think I can keep up if I just was starting my H journey now. 😳

I tried searching for the answer but couldn't find it so I will ask it here. Would asking my SA for a garden party 36 delay or impact my QB that I am waiting for?
I believe it is important to be honest with your SA.
Raise that question with her or him. It is not an unlikely or unreasonable desire. The fact that you are interested in a garden party shows that you have a greater interest in the brand than just working to get a QB. Browny point! Good.
If you are deliberately holding back,
you will generate an aura that all is not quite as it should be; that will not inspire confidence in you to encourage your SA to support your corner.

I’m curious- what’s the general consensus on asking ones SA if there’s a spending expectation or limit for being offered a QB’s and more desired items like KP (non exotic which isn’t a QB, if I’m not mistaken). Is it a major no-no to be so bold and direct?

Yes, major no no in the US, especially with the new lawsuit. I wouldn’t be surprised if a client was ghosted after being so bold.

I wouldn’t, especially with the lawsuit out there. Best to just buy what you like and then express interest in bag. It will usually happen naturally in time.

We were in the store today, and upon checking out, the SA said that MKs are showing up more regularly, but to not even bother asking about a KP as they’re impossible. So factor that into your situation.

This is interesting. I posted in the chat thread that I had noticed a slight uptick in KPs being offered by resellers recently, which to me might suggest that they are around in slightly greater numbers in boutique at present. Wishful thinking on my part, maybe!

Absolutely. Makes sense.

Thanks! I agree it’s best to let it evolve organically. I know KP’s are becoming harder and harder to come by. Good news about MK’s!

In the US, there was never any official expectation or limit. I don’t even know if an SM would have a target number. But, IMO only, SAs would be wary of anyone who posed such a question (not only bc of the lawsuit) but for a few other reasons.

A specific answer would perhaps set an unrealistic expectation, and no SA welcomes a client who nickel and dimes their spend. If you must ask a question re QB expectations, perhaps a general one re the amount of time it might take.

For a client who spends generously; is relaxed; and not pushy; and who might be flexible in the type of QB, the time might be less than a client who spends the same amount; but who is continually doing a mental tally; and who only wants the latest MK… JMO of course

Thank you for this. Bottom line: go with the flow and buy what you love. The rest will come ❤️

Since many of fellow TPFers have already responded, I will not repeat it. (That being said, I agree with all the responses that it's a big no-no given the recent lawsuit issue.)

But, I actually asked this when I started shopping at Hermes last year. (It was way before the lawsuit came out.) Because I was basically new to shopping at luxury brands and my SA knew that I was truly genuine/curious about this, my SA told me that, "there is no such thing." She added that "just enjoy and get what you like, and I I will help you get the bag you want." My shopping at Hermes has not been more than 9 months roughly, and I have secured 7 bags so far (3 of them were QBs***). And my pre-spend has been significantly lower than the average posts here.

Here are my thoughts:
- Even if you ask, your SA will not say much about it.
- I think it's all about the relationship with the SA/store at the end. And it's also about being patient.

I hope this helps!

ETA: ***The last one was the HSS order I did earlier this year. I just counted it here since it is almost guaranteed.
