Hello all, I’m relatively new and have a great SA I’ve been shopping with for 3 months. I went in to exchange something my husband purchased that didn’t fit. I ended up finding another small item that I bought along with the new item (that was exchanged). I asked the SA that attended me how this works as this is my 1st time ever exchanging an item and would this go towards my SA I usually shop with (that the item was originally purchased with). She said yes it would be credited to her. I said thanks and I appreciate her help for the day. I looked at the receipt and it appears the exchange was credited to my original SA but the 2nd small item I purchased was rung under the SA that helped me today. Is this usually what happens? I don’t want to ruin the relationship with my normal SA and thought any sales would go to her as that was assured to me when I was checking out. Any insights into this would be helpful, thanks!

I also wanted to post my honest experience that may be helpful for all the European gals waiting for their B or K. I put my wishlist (the classic B30 neutral color in Togo) in in March in a European store WITHOUT any purchase history and got an offer of a Bleu nuit B30 with GHW In November.
accepted of course.

i don’t want to brag - I want to encourage you that it IS possible even if you don’t believe you could be so lucky

Congratulations! This is wonderful news! :ghi5: ❤ But your news should go into a thread titled “How I Got A Quota Bag With No Purchase History,” not this thread about maintaining a long-term business relationship with an H SA.

That’s pretty standard. The SA that helped you with today‘s new item gets the credit for it. Don’t worry about it. But if it is important to you in the future, always make an appointment and shop with your SA. That way you’ll get face-time with her and she’ll get credit for your purchases.

:shrugs: And for some people it is perfectly normal. It isn’t a “journey.” It isn’t a “game.” It’s just shopping.
It’s a very exceptional shopping experience when one can’t buy something that one likes. Or in the quantities that one

Just yesterday I was told by someone that she went into a H store with family to buy some Oran sandals. It was difficult to get her size. So, once she was told there is stock, she wanted to get 3 different colours. The SA who served her refused to sell to her unless it is under 3 different profiles. So she had to get her family members to create new profiles just so she could get them after going many stores without getting any.

how normal is that?

I guess nothing is surprising with Hermès ‍♀️

thanks for your input! We tried texting our normal SA but she didn’t respond (likely busy) and so when I made an online appt to exchange the item (within the 15 days my husband bought the item that was to be exchanged) a different SA was assigned to me. I thought this should be no problem as I was just exchanging and not doing a full shop. Anyways, I’m just being careful not to appear like I will shop with any random SA.

Thanks again! I feel better

I’m a regular H client and shop by appointment with my SA. I’ve bought Orans in different colors with no issue, so I can only speculate about the circumstance that would make every SA in every one of those “many stores” feel they needed to take that kind of precaution with the person you describe.

You did the right thing. You gave your SA a chance to respond, and when she didn’t you went ahead and did your business. As a result, she lost a sale—too bad for her. Keep doing this and one of two things will happen—your SA will get a clue that you are a serious customer (that darn well intends to do your business one way or another) and she is losing sure sales, and she will start responding to you faster as she hears about losing bigger and bigger sales. OR you’ll meet someone in the process that you like even better and you can just start making appointments with that person. Either way, it all works out.

Hermes is a low volume high demand retailer.
SAs are alert to customers who might be buying to resell.
Unless the client is well-known and not considered a potential reseller supplier,
wishing to buy multiples is a red flag.
Hearsay is not the most reliable source of information.
^^^^this.
My very own opinion is that Hermes business model is ancient: the merchandises are of excellent quality, expensive and timeless. Ideally, one doesn’t need dozens of the same thing in different combinations of leathers, HW, colours, sizes etc but buy an item or two that suits one's lifestyle and style and replace the items only when needed.

Again, the world has grown exponentially population and wealth wise and the model is kept. Interesting theories, strategies, conflicts follow.

I am trying to live a minimalist lifestyle and I find this model works really well. Buy what I need and I do not need a lot all at the same time and I can sustain my relationship with the store.

Hello all:

So I’m mildly freaking out. Lol. I’m probably putting too much energy in thinking about this.

But this morning my new SA sent me a text asking if I like the color pink. After a few texts back and forth he sent me the attached picture. It’s rose extreme.

Not sure if I should get excited or not….

But I should give a quick back story. I started shopping at Hermès summer of 2020, but only went to the boutique once that year. Had a great SA, and on my first visit we created my wishlist. Said that it can be 2 years before I would get an offer.

Fast forward to 2021, I only went to the boutique about 3 times early in 2021. Life got in the way and just didn’t have the time to shop. I did do a couple remote orders with my SA and I sent my husband to pick up the items. But either way my last in person visit was april

So now I have some time and my birthday is Friday and I am not working so I text my SA, but learned she is no longer with Hermès. The manager emailed me assigning a new SA but also noted they are low on inventory.

So I have been texting back and forth with my new SA this week about items I would like to see, just to make the most of my appt, a few jewelry pieces and a sweater. I did ask about a belt, but he said that they were low on leather goods.

Then this morning I get the text asking what I thought about the color pink. And he send me this picture.

Should I get excited or am I overthinking. Lol.

Btw, any way to identify this type of leather. lol.

Sorry for sounding crazy…

Looks like Epsom. Stunning color and will take your breath away, seeing it in person.

Yeah, so genuine customers have to work around the brand being suspicious of customers to be resellers. How is that a normal shopping experience?

I have no problem that H is being exclusive and all. Limited quantities and all. Suspicious of every walk in customer to be a reseller until proven otherwise.

but I wouldn’t call it a normal shopping experience….

If it is so normal, there is actually no need for such a thread. :)

I even felt like starting a thread title “Outrageous things H SAs say”, which I never hear from other brand SAs. Only hesitating because it could get too high profile and spoilt the relationship which is very fragile as compared to other Brand’s.

Again. How normal is that?

I would like to add that I live in a tropical Asian country. We are in various forms of flip flops, sandals, whole year around. I have met multiple people, including myself, who likes a few pairs of Orans and oasis to match outfits as we wear these whole year around.

it’s normal here. :)

I am SEAsian myself. I am aware of the shopping patterns and habits. But my comments still stands  Of course, it’s just my opinion and thoughts which to me rationalizes the shopping at Hermes.
