It's not gold. Mine is fawn and its a perfect blend of reddy-orange-rust-brown. It goes with everything. I adore it. Mine is 16 years old and it doesnt look a day above one!

Speedy in Lilac is amazing eyelove. Although its so pretty and speedy is my fav shape i wonder if i should get a jasmin instead, as lilac is not the most usable colour and the speedy is quite a large and dominant bag. I want the speedy in vanilla. THAT would be nice!

IMO, I think the vanilla epi is more sensitive than the lilac epi. I only have lilac so I can't speak from personal experience to compare the two but my best friend ran out and bought the St. Tropez in vanilla when she found out that they were going to discontinue it and I think that it hasn't held up as well as mine. It's a really light color so when the edges get dirty, it shows!!! With that said, I think a vanilla speedy would be tougher to care for than one in lilac.
I absolutely adore the color pepper though, very neutral and easy to match. Wish I could find one as well!!!

I think speedy suits your style more than the Alma then, jasmin will be perfect too. But if you are used to speedy, you will definitely find jasmin small. I want a jasmin too since my doctor keeps telling me to only use handheld bags with just essentials in it as I have bad shoulders and neck pain. I always want to fill up my bags, when they are not at least half full, I feel that I am not using it efficiently:nuts:, I bet you know how heavy a full speedy 30 can get...
