So sorry this happened to your friend. How upsetting! I, too, would march into a store, the store you purchased it at if possible, and speak to the manager. I hope you get resolution!

Quick update…

LV called my friend out of the blue and offered to replace her bag with a brand new Palm Springs Mini backpack (same product). No questions and no explanations. While my friend is relieved and satisfied with this response I am left with unanswered questions. To LV’s credit though they did address the issue and made everything right.

I don’t know a lot about these products however my understanding is that this replacement is slightly different than the original she purchased. Specifically, the main zipper on this new bag is exposed rather than covered with a flap of leather. Apparently, these flaps over the main zipper have been an issue?

Yes the old covered zipper style had issues of it causing canvas cracks around the edges. I'm glad your friends situation was resolved.

The new version of the PSM is much better! It is much easier to open, so your friend should be happy that she now has a better version of the bag. I'm glad they resolved the issue for her!
