I bought a Saumur 35, sonatine (en route), and a vernis Thompson street (en route). I do meticulous research on the item and on the seller prior to purchase. I've got a whole stack of items in my watch list to choose from payday!

Welcome!! I used the authentication thread to make sure my zippy was the real deal. Most reputable sellers will have all necessary photos (heat stamp, date code, hardware closeups, and overall inside and outside) in the listing without asking. Then you can easily reference them in the authentication thread. You can always ask for the pics, but in the case of brandoff they are selling bags out of their stores and the eBay division can't always access the listed item to photograph it.

Wow yeah I like your vintage speedy! I want to buy a Mono Speedy but keep chickening out right before I bid...I've done a lot of research and I found one that looked SO real but then the date code was SD4067....that can't exist right?! Super fakes are getting really, REALLY good it's scary...:-s:ninja:

They can check it for u here on the authenticate thread but that date code would be the 46th week of 2007 so what was wrong with that? They are awesome on that thread

Oh I thought it was month and year. As in 46 month, 07.:shame: I don't remember where I read that, and I did try looking through the date code information in the forum but it had a lot of other topics going on instead of just a list. So that's a possible date code? Have never seen one like it before, guess I still have a lot to learn! I will try to use the authenticate forum, thanks!:blushing:
