I would go to the cobbler/shoemaker since it’s an easy fix.

If you decide to return — there is no guarantee that the next PSM from LV would meet your expectations and could actually be worse.

I don’t think I would be taking a brand new LV bag to a cobbler to be fixed, personally. If you do that LV will never accept it for any kind of repair or leather/hardware replacement. Additionally, I wouldn’t feel good at all about paying to have something fixed on a bag that should have been in perfect condition and working order when I received it. It might be a while before you get a replacement, but I would return it. I think it would annoy me whenever I used the bag.

Agreed, but I think the main point is that PSM’s are notorious for more annoying imperfections and whatnot. This is a 123 fix and LV will in fact accept future repairs on other parts of the bag even though the zipper was altered. An example of something that they won’t touch is when people decide to add additional holes to a belt and comprise the integrity of the piece.

LV won’t accept a bag for repair if someone else has altered it in any way. Bear that in mind. If you’re happy with that and don’t mind paying to have it fixed, then sure, why not?

True, They won’t fix the altered zipper, but that has nothing to do with, say, the handle. They even repair bags with cracked canvas now. Times have changed. They aren’t as strict as before.

I’ll believe that when I see a bag they’ve repaired with cracked canvas! That definitely sounds like someone’s dreamt that.

I understand your point. I do. But I’ve seen and heard many PSM with quality issues. And this bag is “perfect” except with one small fix needed. I returned 2 new bandolier 25 bags and learned my lesson and went to FASHIONPHILE and got a near “perfect” bag. It doesn’t mean it always happens that way. But PSM is hard to get. You guys are all great. Appreciate all the advice and comments.

I was surprised to hear this as well because in the past they wouldn’t touch a bag with cracked canvas. Now, If the cracked canvas is on a different part of the bag then what is getting repaired, they will indeed repair it now. It’s a recent update to the repair policy. They give the client a detailed condition of the bag, notate the cracking or any other damage or wear and send it out for repair. If the cracked canvas is near the affected repair area, then no, they won’t touch it.
