Hi everyone,

I've been looking for a work bag that can fit my Macbook 14, originally was thinking of getting the Celine Soft 16 but it was too small, then when I recently went to LV, I sat my eyes on a LV LockMe Shopper which is not a very popular bag here in Australia but wow it is beautiful!

I wanted to get it hot stamped with my initials as I'm buying it as a commemorative award to myself (for getting promoted ) but the SA strongly advised not to because apparently since the interior material is fabric, there's a chance it may burn through during the stamping, so I didn't go ahead.

I wanted to see if anyone else has had an experience (the SA did say she'll ask around for more opinions but I haven't heard back) with this bag, or with another similar build bag, just so I can see whether or not I should take the chance.

Is the clochette the same material? Is that what you wanted to get hot stamped, or is it an option to do so?
Ah sorry I wasn't very clear in my original post.

What I mean is, the leather is fine to get hot stamped, but behind the leather, the interior of the bag, is fabric, and they are afraid that it may burn through the leather to the fabric and cause some damage to the interior :crybaby:

Listen to your SA. Please. Also, LV is famously shi!ty at heat stamping, so even if it was all thumbs up material wise you could easily wind up with a poor outcome. Just browse the forum threads on this subject.

I call BS on the excuse. They don't stamp these bags right in the middle, they usually do the handle tabs. Just like as on the Speedy or the Neverfull. And both of those have fabric underneath. But in this case, it is 3 layers of leather (not just 2) between the machine and the lining, so even safer to stamp than a Neverfull.
On the other hand they usually are afraid to stamp whole bags, because if they mess up, it is not just a single luggage tag or clochette they need to order, but the whole bag goes to the trash. So most stores don't do them in general. But it is more honest to say just that, and not coming up with BS like this.

I LOVE this bag. Congratulations on your promotion. It sounds like the hot stamping might be risky. What about a personalized SLG to compliment your beautiful new bag?
Thank you! I might think about getting an SLG but I just got a Dior card holder that I almost never use these days haha, since everything is digital now and so much more convenient.

Ah, yeah I should have also added that the stamping they were suggesting is on the handle tabs, And that's the part that they are concerned about stamping, because it may go through to the fabric?

To be honest, I do think that it's pretty much the same as if they stamped a Neverfull on the handle tabs, but I haven't seen any photos of this happening. Would you happen to have come across one that I can show the SA?

There are quite a few examples in the Clubhouse:

I was wondering if she said it becasue the lining is microfiber (which is plastic) instead of the canvas on a regular Neverfull, but they heat stamped Épi Neverfulls too, those also have the microfiber lining. But if they are afraid to try, you can ask another store.

Thanks for sharing that thread with me!

Yes, it seems there's a couple of Épi Neverfulls that have been heat stamped floating around -- even I found a second-hand one on Luxe.It.Fwd that was heat stamped with initials.

However, I just noticed that I could just get a luggage tag on the bag... with some challenge, and then get that stamped. Hopefully I can convince my SA to sell me one!

That is the safest way. What colour is your bag?

Oh, that makes it easy, great. There is no LockMe luggage tag, but there is a very nice clochette on the LockMe Ever:

Or since the LockMe and Empreinte leather texture is so similar, a luggage tag with the new design from the Grand Palais would work:

The 'luggage' type Empreinte tags are not textured unfortunately, but might work nicely:

The Horizon tag is textured, but rectangular, I wouldn't recommend that one:

These are all spare parts that they can order by starting a service process. The rule is that they can order these only for customers who own these exact products, but in reality they can easily bend this rule. Really depends on the relationship. And since they are the ones who are afraid to personalize your bag, they should be happy to go this safer route.

Wow! Thank you so much for all this information! Now everything makes sense in the other thread when people were saying that it depends on the SA and store for getting these luggage tags!

Thank you all so for going through and helping me decide which would work for my LockMe! I'll first have a chat with my SA and see what's available in my region first, though probably leaning towards the clochette right now
