I love this bag on you 😍
It’s such a great color and can go with so much.
I definitely understand struggling with certain colors though. You definitely need to love it. Diane really is such a great easy to carry bag. I’m with you, definitely a favorite ❤️

I want to post a small update of my Diane after using it for about 2 months. I use it on rotation with a few other bags, not everyday usage. There were many occasions where I was caught in heavy rain with Diane and I get a little paranoid over the Vachetta trims. I do try to wipe off the rain splatter asap when I’m back indoors after being in the rain. So far, there isn’t any water marks on the Vachetta trims maybe because of the treated leather as LV claims. I found slight scuff marks on some parts of the Vachetta trims of the flap from the D-rings where you hook the strap. Also at a spot where I didn’t expect, maybe due to colour transfer from colours. Other than the Vachetta trims having scuff marks, nothing else is showing any wear.

Scuff marks and slight dents where the D-rings are “lifted” when you hook the straps to carry the bag. The photo may not show the dents well

next is a real scuff mark probably from clothings colour transfer, or something. No idea how it got there. It’s lightly scuff, not too bad

Finally, when you use the back zipper pocket on the inside of the bag, it pops out a little on the back. It’s still possible to use the back slip pocket even with the popping

It’s best to fill up the bag so that it’s easier to snap the magnetic closure. When it’s too empty, you need to fuddle a little to snap-close it. I think it’s similar to pochette Métis in this magnetic snap closure. Not a big deal because the bag is considered a small bag, it fills up pretty quick. The good thing about this bag is the spacious width, unlike PM, it can fit any SLG within the whole space while a PM can only fit slim-width items or the bag would poke out weirdly.

I’m really looking at wears of the bag with a magnifying glass and that’s all I could find. Canvas area looks perfect. I saw a YouTuber review this bag, she mentioned the buckle would stick out whenever you open and close the flap. Mine too. But I haven’t remove the protective plastic on the hardware of the buckle, so I always thought that might be the cause of the middle sticking out. View attachment 5397956
All the points I mentioned are not deal-breakers. Just small imperfections that I can live with. Overall I still love the bag. I know most people don’t seem to like the woven strap and preferred the shorter leather leather. I’m the odd ball because I’m short enough for the bag to sit nicely when worn crossbody. I exclusively use the woven strap on crossbody. I keep the leather strap away as I don’t see the need to bring the shorter strap out when I don’t even use it.
After some use, are you also experiencing dents on the magnetic closure? The magnetic closure is hollow for mine so it seems to be denting it every time I close it… :( I’m very careful with my bags never seen this wear and tear on a magnetic closure before.

I bought an Empreinte Diane in the Brume/Quartz colorway in January, and I love the bag, it's beautiful and the perfect size for me. But it bugs me that the flap impedes the D-ring attachment points for the straps from extending upward, as they bump against the underside of the flap. When the bag is closed, the D-rings can only flip up halfway, perpendicular to the side of the bag, instead of all the way up. I worry about eventual wear to the underside of the flap edge from the rings rubbing/pressing against it. @Jumper I see your post from 2022 mentioning the same issue - do you still have the bag, and has that wear to the inside trim of the flap gotten worse over time? Has anyone else found this to be an issue with this bag?

After wearing the Diane 3-4 times I have noticed that the ring and the strap are rubbing against the leather edging. There appeared very small dents and also slightly dark discoloration.
Now I‘m afraid that they will get bigger after wearing the bag frequently. Maybe I will sell it because I‘m a bit picky with my bags.
How are your experiences?
I just posted about this exact issue, but hadn't found your post in my search beforehand. This is going to drive me nuts.

I thought I was the only one who had this problem with the Diane because no one has reported here.

I have sold my Diane after my last posting before the damage go worse. I had worn it 3-4 times and I was so disappointed about this poor workmanship (the false construction of the D ring attachement) of the Diane.

I loved the style of the Diane very much!

But as with many bags from LV the construction and workmanship is not well thought out ( like my Capucines too!).

I also didn’t see anyone else posting about it much then. I bugged me very much. To the point where I couldn’t live with it. I sold it eventually after using for about a year or less. Before I use excessively and make the dent worst.

The aged Vachetta gives me heart-attack each time it rain or splashed.

I admit that I bought it partially because it was trendy.

It also made me realised I did not like flap bags. When it’s half filled, I might have to press down “more” to close its magnetic closure.

I did not realize I don’t like such bags until I own one.

Because I first had a speedy. I love the speedy. I also did not realize I use the handles so often to hold the bag here and there even though I shoulder carry all the time. I didn’t realize the handles mattered to me until I owned bags without handles.

Oh man I read this whole sub and am so discouraged about getting the mono Diane. Is the consensus that it has too many issues with quality of stitching and d ring ruining the leather? I want to order a preloved one but hesitant after reading this 😔

Don’t get discouraged! I purchased mine pre-loved and did not experience any issues with the rubbing or stitching. If you have concerns about the d-ring issue others have described, I saw these on Etsy:

Again, after owning the bag for several years, it still looks brand new. 💕

I have the Diane and have no issues. I wasn't aware there were any, I can check mine but I use it all the time and love this bag….
