LOL, me too.Looks very similar size to the old one. I’m happy with the ones I purchased for $500 in 2019, so my wallet’s safe.

I think you're right. And that tenderness one is really quite beautiful. It looks like it comes with an insert? Intriguing.. and the "tenderness" one looks like it has wooden feet?
So true. Hang onto your old stuff and find a similar looking chain !!I feel like LVs strategy is to add a gold chain to everything and then charge 30% more. While I do like the strap options it’s starting to feel a bit repetitive
Oh I have so many of their chains in all different lengths and sizes I can just make my own updated versions of things lol That said, do appreciate the ability to mix and match though. for instance I’m using the long chain that came with my DZP as a crossbody strap with the mini bumbagSo true. the negative reactions- never understood the double standard about fur/exotics vs basic leather
Most leathers are a by-product of the meat/dairy industry. Industries that are multi-purpose and already accepted means to an end. (Although still not crazy about it)the negative reactions- never understood the double standard about fur/exotics vs basic leather![]()
Totally agree and that is why I wouldn‘t buy or support any exotics or real fur items. Most leathers are a by-product of the meat/dairy industry. Industries that are multi-purpose and already accepted means to an end. (Although still not crazy about it)
Furs/exotics animals have been bred and farmed specifically for the purposes of such luxuries. Jackets, bags, slippers. These animals are unfortunately skinned alive. Quite senseless. And very brutal. Don’t even want to imagine what that feels like. Especially when faux looks quite good these days. Other major fashion houses have stepped away from real and use faux… why can’t LV?
I know it may not seem like a difference but watch Earthlings if you want to get a glimpse. Granted, there is a whole lot of things that we participate in that leads to destruction, but big change starts in small steps.
From what I understand and have learned from craftsmen/women and on the forums here, by-product leather is often considered low quality due to the many flaws since meat industry cattle receive poor care - the goal is meat not quality leather. Same applies to exotics(crocs, ostrich, mink, etc.) Like you mentioned they are farmed specifically for their fur and receive better living conditions so that the leather skins/furs produced are flawless. Most leathers are a by-product of the meat/dairy industry. I guess tasing/electrocuting animals is ethically fine so I can tote around a $4K bag. /sFrom what I understand and have learned from craftsmen/women and on the forums here, by-product leather is often considered low quality due to the many flaws since meat industry cattle receive poor care - the goal is meat not quality leather. Luxury houses are not skinning animals alive. Not only is this dangerous to the leather farmers(who work extremely hard) but can you imagine how difficult this would be? Common sense. Without getting graphic, skinning animals alive would seriously damage precious skins and spoil furs defeating the entire purpose of leather/exotic farms.
If you’re against calf leather, croc, fur, etc. etc. you have the option of faux “vegan” leather. Stella McCartney has some interesting bags.
