With the upcoming Lunar New Year upon us, I have discovered that as a Rabbit I might want to consider a little extra protection against bad luck.
I am considering getting a pig or sheep charm or maybe a lucky cat from Chow Sang Sang.
Anyone preparing for the Lunar New Year with protective jewelry?

So is it convention to wear your own sign? The actual sign of the year? Just wondering what constitutes as protection as you mentioned that you are Rabbit but considering the pig/sheep.

I was reading you have to wear something that corresponds to your sign's friend..I think this link explains it a bit more!

My sister gave me a bracelet with jade when I said I'd love a protection piece of jewelry but it has absolutely no relation to my zodiac.

Yes normally I would wear a rabbit but since this is the year of the wood dragon it is not favorable for me to identify as a rabbit! I read I need to identify as a pig or sheep this year to ward off bad luck. I hope that makes sense!

Hmmm maybe I should pick the dog since it’s my secret friend!

I was thinking of getting the same thing. I'm a dragon and apparently we need to watch out this year, despite it being our year lol. So I was thinking of getting the rooster, lucky cat, and the dragon. Not sure if that will look too busy though since I do like the look of the single charm.

Yes, sadly not a good for dragon! I think one charm should work, I am planning on getting one charm and a red knitted bracelet.

I always get my husband and I a Fu bracelet every Lunar New Year regardless of our Chinese zodiac signs. It is generally for good luck, safety, and health.

Traditionally it is a red corded bracelet with a 24k piece.
For durability of the bracelet itself I often get him a beaded bracelet with a 24k pixiu or 24k ruyi.
We are switching to 18k this year because eventually the gold gets damaged and falls off and we don't want the dogs accidentally finding a piece and eating it.

For myself, I usually get a corded bracelet for comfort. I already wear a lot of metal on my wrists, so I prefer a corded bracelet. Sometimes I'll choose gold, sometimes I won't have any gold at all. More of a personal preference for me. But for me, there's always some red in it.

Usually if it is your zodiac year, you just need to have something red on you at all times. A very easy way to do this is red underwear or red Fu bracelet (preferably blessed at a temple).
