I bought it. I figure the only thing worse than missing out on it at $550 is missing out on it at $675.

This is how I felt when I was eyeing the regular size cosmetic pouch. I want to say it was ~375 or 350 USD last year and I kept holding off for more desirable items. This year I took the plunge and paid the 550. I was mad about it at first, but I don't regret it for reasons you have already mentioned. I really enjoy the piece and know that the cost per use will be well worth the purchase.

I'm considering the GM as well

I have wanted a cosmetic pouch GM for years. It’s the one piece I never purchased. I lost my LV love in fall 2019. And just returned to get that cosmetic pouch. OMG. The prices are insane. 6 increases since I left??? Why so many? I can’t bring myself to pay over $700 USD for that cosmetic pouch. I’m really confused at these increases on the canvas.
I can relate. I have not been able to buy for the last 2 years and I just looked and was shocked to see pieces that were 350 over 500. The 500 line 700 and the speedy over 1000. Faint.

I get this. Real estate prices in my area are uo over 25% in a year so LV is keeping in line with that. And resale remains strong so hopefully a good investment regardless.

Real estate prices in my city skyrocket! Buying a bigger house becomes my illusion. Well everything increases price for at least 15% i.e restaurant, groceries. I think one of the reasons are inflation

Well ! Inflation and greed as well, lv did around 6 increases last year. Not mainly because of inflation , was stated because of covid, limited supplies but i feel added to all these greed as well! They are a business and covid was perfect a opportunity!

I think it depends on the dynamics in your city. In Austin, the price increases are due largely to skyrocketing demand by workers from other states moving in faster than homes can be built to accommodate. Also, the remaining historically low interest rates are encouraging buyers to spend a bit more than they would at, say, 5%. I would never begrudge a seller for taking the maximum amount a buyer is willing to offer. It's like pre-owned LV. Some buyers are willing to pay over retail price and it's their prerogative to do so - and a seller would be foolish to take less than the market will bear.
