$630 for PA now
They’re crazy.
I bought monogram PA in January 2020 for $525 and now only 4 months later it increased 20%! WTH?
Wow...Im seeing the price increase now! The Mono PA is now $630!!!!
20% since January 2020
Just my guess of reasons:
- increase of cost due to lower supply of material from their suppliers
- production shut down limited their own supply to customers
- potential lower return rate of online sales during the pandemic (people might lean towards keeping it if price increased)
- short-term boost in sales volume, lots of people pulled the triggers once they know there is a price increase ahead
They are probably under lots of pressure from their Q1 earnings results that came out last month too, not so pretty.
4 price increases since October. The last one in March before quarantine and now this as some come out of quarantine. They had a 15% decrease in sales for Q1 but when China opened back up, they had a jump there of 50%. I am sorry but this many increases in a short time PLUS during a pandemic is poor form and there is no excuse IMO
This is such a tone deaf move. It's rare that I feel strongly about brand behaviors because some things are inevitable or predictable. Price increases are generally accepted as an annual inevitability, but this jump is outrageous.

The Pochette Metis reverse was $1880 USD and the PM monogram was $1830 USD when I bought them both on February 6 -- just three months ago. Now the PM reverse is $2050 and the PM monogram is $1980. Those are 8-9% price increases.
Agree, very tone deaf. I think I am going to look at preloved or other lux brands now. It is really disgusting to me. Four increases since October with one before quarantine and one as states slowly come out.
I looked at a bag that I was interested in. It is downright insulting. Yes, I can still buy it. But I seriously don't want to. I feel so turned off by LV corporate right now. I'm headed back to jewelry. I can at least pass that on. Argh. I'm so annoyed. Although sales have decreased during this SIP period, LV faithfuls have been actively buying. And in spite of this, LV feels like it needs to maintain it's profit levels? EVERY SINGLE RETAILER HAS EXPERIENCED A SEVERE HIT, AS WELL AS EVERY CUSTOMER. It doesn't take a genius to realize that. Suck it up. Profit levels are going to drop. They're lucky anyone is buying anything. Ok, I've gotta chill. Yes, resellers for me if at all.
Totally agree! I can afford the increase but I don't want to because their poor form.

Its revenue in Asian market (29% of its total revenue) was down 32% compared to last year, same market had an increase of 17% in Q1 2019.
But I wasn’t justifying its decisions..I was simply laying out my guess of reasons for the price increase.

Stores aren’t even open yet and they plan on opening to a 17% price increase???
That's the word on the Chanel forum. I've been waiting on my mini for over a year, the stay at home didn't really impact it since they don't have stock anyway. (similar to LV) I am getting tired of this BS though. I'm ready to say forget it. I'm not paying $4k for a mini. It's not THAT amazing.

Ok now I can see price adjustments in AU website. Oh well!
I managed to snag escale kirigami last Sunday (because I got tired waiting for the pastel NF to become available again as I love my pastel mini pochette and I want to have another pastel) and the TP15. Hope they both arrive ok. I have no appetite to buy anything other than SLGs at the moment as I feel that’s all I could use right now. I agree with the majority of the sentiment here - a price hike 2 months apart during pandemic is really insensitive and off putting!
I just saw it now too! On the bags, a lot of them had a $200 price increase for us in Australia which is a huge jump!!
its so hard to keep up with these increases! Glad you managed to get some goodies before the price hike. And I’m so thankful other tfp members had the early intel so a lot of us could grab something that we were eyeing and just needing a nudge to get over the line. I know for myself it was handy to know because I went in over the weekend to check out some things (appointment only basis) and got myself an early birthday treat! Will do a reveal later and share!

The only thing I noticed that did not change so far was Escale Kirigami set (as of an hour ago)
Agree, I noticed some items didn’t change or change by much. The new reverse card holder went up by $10. That’s on my list to get next, but it wasn’t available when I was in or checked on the website. Hopefully soon I can add this little cutie.
