This is the first time I hear of price increases as of recently. My neighbor bought a Neverfull mm in 2008 and she said back then it didn't come with the pouchette and that it was way less than 1260.00 plus taxes here in the US.

I bought my NF GM in 2007 when it first launched. I paid $700 plus tax. The PM was $650 and MM was $675. The price now is definitely ridiculous.

I disagree. The pochette alone can sell online for $300-$400 which was not in included in the original bag. If you factor in the value of the pochette with inflation, the price only went up about $200-$300 over 10 years, which is typical for a luxury product. You did still get it at a great price point though. I don't think they ever expected it to be as popular as it is.

Not everyone wants a pochette for the additional price. Not everyone wants to sell on eBay or feels comfortable doing so. I know what you're trying to say, but for some, that extra $500 dollars puts that bag out of their budget. Heck, for $200 more than what the current retail is right now, I could have gotten two NFs back in the day. I bought a MM in 2011 and back then it was still quite reasonable, $750 plus tax. Now a MM is what... about $1400 after tax (I live in CA where tax is close to 10%)? That's almost double and all you get is a little pochette. I think that's a bit ridiculous. That said, I only collect LE NF for fun (and those are even pricer but I justify it because they're limited), but my point was that for a bag of that design (really nothing special, just a simple tote) LV is really charging an arm.

Firstly, as far as the Pochette, Ebay is not the end all be all. There are other sites you san sell a Pochette on. There's Fashionphile, Yoogi's Closet, etc. You will not get as much, but its an option.
Secondly, if I am understanding you correctly. According to you, it is reasonable to pay the 20%+ price premium for a L.E. piece ($1500 and up, plus tax), but those who purchase the classic for $1240 in 2017 are being ripped off? If I were so disgusted with LV for overcharging on this piece in its original form, then I would certainly not pay an additional premium on top of that for a little silk screen that costs $25.00 or less to produce. This is the whole point of the matter. If somebody is willing to pay the price today for any particular item, which is only going to increase as history has taught us, then we shouldn't be undermining their purchase because we got it cheaper 5-10 years ago. I purchased Speedy in the 90's for under $500, does that mean because somebody bought one today they are being ridiculous for paying $950? I understand your intention is to point out how much the price has inflated over the years, and you make a valid point. My disagreement with you is more about the undertone and message that you are sending to new owners about the price they chose to pay was "ridiculous". You are entitled to your opinion, but the NF MM is still their best selling piece by far (at $1240 and up), so apparently people are willing to pay the additional price for the Pochette.

You've completely taken what I said out of context. I never said that anyone who is willing to purchase the NF at its current price is ridiculous. My opinion about the price being 'ridiculous' is based on my own experiences. Meaning, if anyone were ask me if I would ever buy a regular NF at its current price, I would tell them highly doubtful based on my own buying experience. That's just it...my opinion based on my own buying experiences. Just like your speedy example, I got all of mine when they were all under $500. Would I pay for one today for over $1000? Probably not. But again, that's just me. I could care less about what people spend their money on. Hey, it's your money, do whatever you want with it. It's obvious that LV understands the demand of the bag and they're milking it. That's just business. I am hating on that aspect either but can I say that I think it's a bit pricey for what it is...yes...that's just my opinion.

LEs were always expensive. Even when the Murakami, roses, graffit, etc... came out (I think those were the first LE NFs), they were already in the $1300. Today, seeing that it's 10 years later and LEs are still only a $200-$300 increase (plus they now come with a pouch also), I'd say they haven't increased as dramatically. But for me, personally, I buy them because they are exclusive prints, limited editions. Once they're gone, they're gone. That is the only appeal I see when I shell out money for them. Do I think they are ridiculously expensive for what it is? Heck yes. No need to school me on the cost of production, I know they are not worth what they cost. All designers handbags are not worth their price tags.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to write this detailed essay on every waking decision that you make for all of the LV products you purchase! Nobody was schooling you, just making a valid point of my own, as you have. It's ok to have a difference of opinion! Have a great rest of your weekend!! .

Just wondering if LV do regular price increases like some of the other luxury brands? I have a couple of things on my wish list and I don't know if I should go for them sooner rather than later.

I see they have discontinued a few of the smaller bags e.g. Eva and that the PA is in short supply. The new bag, the Lorette, is similar to the PA with some bells and whistles but is 3 times the price- maybe that's more the strategy??
