I think we will probably see an across-the-board price increase in Europe before we see one in the US. Because the euro is so weak right now, the gap between US & european LV prices is even greater than usual. LV really can't increase prices in the US before it increases prices in Europe, otherwise the gap will be even more massive and potentially disruptive to the US LV market. If you could get LV for 50-60% off in Europe, would you continue to buy everything in the US, or would you consider traveling to make some big purchases? Look what happened with China before their market crashed--luxury tourism and gray market reselling. Of course, I could be totally wrong. Who knows.

However I heard that custom is implementing new rules so that people will have to pay taxes for goods in packages.
China's stock market crashed in 2015 and again in early 2016. There's a ton of financial turmoil there right now. I agree that there's still luxury tourism/gray market stuff going on, but overall luxury purchases have declined since China's economy started tanking.

I live in one of the the states in the USA where the Chinese have had a major effect on the housing market. I follow the news religiously and agree with this 100%.
Someone mentioned in their reveal yesterday that the SA told her there would be a price increase on Tuesday (tomorrow). She is in the UK; a comment asked if it would also apply to the US but the answer seamed vague. Does anyone here get a heads up from their SA 24 hours before an increase? I'm planning on buying in 2 weeks.

My Birthday is May 1, and I was going to go that weekend. I agree with your theory...many people have been told there is not increase this year, but you never know when one person gets different info. I think I'll cross my fingers since it seems like this might be isolated to the UK due to their currency.

As I understood, it was more a price adjustment for the UK only, as LV prices are determined in and UK has Pound Sterling, so there are exchange rate fluctuations.
I hope there won`t be another price increase anytime soon

Anyone know how many price increases there have been since May 2015 for Canada? I bought my Speedy B 30 from Paris that month, my bag was 970 euros (roughly $1300 canadian dollars) which was cheaper than the price in Canada, plus got the VAT refund. The bag in Canada is $1800, can't remember how much it was going for when I bought mine from Paris.
