Was he talking about how the V line would hold up or the Ramage?
Ramage has a thicker layer than the V. The V is the one he questioned because of the thinner layer. He said they had to put a thinner layer on the V for the symbols to show through.

Do you think the pink may be on thicker? The symbols definitely do not show through as much.Ramage has a thicker layer than the V. The V is the one he questioned because of the thinner layer. He said they had to put a thinner layer on the V for the symbols to show through.

But I do wonder about the show through - is it a design choice, or is it actually color showing through? Why would the patterns show up as almost white when you put colors such as turquoise and pink on brown canvas?

I agree with u 100%. I got the v pochette nm and I'm pretty sure Its the design and not the monogram print showing through.
I suspect the V and the monogram are actually printed together. I have no proof of this theory but that seems the most logical to me. It's undoubtably an industrial digital process so it would save time. I look at the men's V tote, it doesn't look like two layers but rather one print job.
Again this is just my guess.
I just went to feel my mon mono vs. V again, and I am pretty sure that V is printed as part of the canvas because there is no way the layer is so thin that it is unfeel-able by finger touch. If you run your finger through the pattern on mon mono you can clearly feel a difference in the thickness, but with V no such difference.
I would really like to get some info from ramages owners now - when you run your fingers through the patterns, do you feel a changing thickness? Like if you close your eyes and feel across the bag, can you tell what is the pattern what is not?
You cant feel a difference when you touch the Ramage.
For the amount of effort I put into this ... the box that arrived this afternoon feels like one helluva accomplishment.
