Mini bumbag arrived today from online order. It’s very cute and for those wondering mine was made in Italy : )
So i've been really debating between this and the mini since i refuse to pay the super high resell price for the original.
I do like how the high rise is more similar to the original, but am not a fan of the vachetta zipper in the front. The vachetta makes it look so busy? Also not a fan of the guitar strap but i can replace that so not a problem. Honestly, the vachetta zipper is the main concern.
I get my mini today so going to see how it looks, however i do wish it was a tiny bit bigger!
I wonder how the luggage tag will lay when carried? Seems like it won’t stay as pictured if carried cross body? I think it looks busy with the vachetta and tag and strap. I passed on the mini and have the original . I never use it but cant get myself to sell it…
I agree, I also don't fancy the vachetta around the zipper, to me that's just unnecessary and probably will get dirty fast. I hope at some point it will come out in leather, then I don't see a problem with the part around the zipper when it's in an uniform color with the leather.
I received my mini bumbag also made in Italy. Very cute and versatile bag but I do think the vachetta strap is kinda short and I’m only 5 feet. I added chain strap extenders and it made such a difference.
Honestly I’m not sure . I am a creature of habit and I tend to reach for crossbody bags , neverfulls and speedy b’s. I need to remember to branch out I guess lol
I am the same way. I always think I should take it out and use it but always end up using a different bag. I cannot bring myself to sell it though…
I bought it (original) last week from Ann Fabulous Finds. Not used at all, wayyyyyy over retail. Opened box, tried to put zippy in. Looked at zipper and sent right back. Having to flip that zipper flap up is a total no go for me. I think the Palm Springs OM is way more user friendly, as far as the new one. I’m OVER guit straps.
I love the original. Just got back from a two month trip in the Mediterranean and carried it the whole time. flipping the flap up to get to the zipper actually made it feel more secure against pickpockets.
the wider zip opening allowed me to accommodate a water bottle, sunglasses, a lippie, handcream. The back pocket held my passport, ID, bank card, and phone.
in a pinch, I could also fit a light sweater with a water bottle (but no sunglasses).

I would prefer wearing a cross body bag and they seem to work better for me. The bumbag just doesn’t seem functional. I am going to try it again but make a point on probably selling it.
Now you have me thinking about it again, sigh.... I do realize that I was sort of in a hurry to decide because we were leaving for vacation and I wanted to be in proper return timeframe. I do think it could work with a zippy and a mini pochette or 2 in it to organize? But, it's super duper expensive now, and even though it's not used..... still..... I won't buy the new one. Don't like the looks of it. As previously stated, guitar strap overload.
