Interesting but you would think it wouldve made more sense to release during the first multicolor/superflat launch. would likely be a nomination piece too so i wouldn't worry about it unless youre on a super short list. the original petit panda i want to say was around $3500 retail, so must be some absurd number now if it were to come out again. I was offered one from a japan reseller for $4500 but couldnt justify the spend at the time. the original was at least individually numbered on the tag (limited to 150) and murakami signed and numbered a certificate of authenticity for each one as well. i wouldnt be shocked if there was a re-release is because in the past few years he seems to be on a big money grab and pushing out tons of random merch including his own pandas. An LV refresh could hype up sales for his kaikai kiki line of pandas.

Thanks for the insight! Incredible that it was $3500 but now worth 10x that amount. I noticed one of them sold at auction through Sotheyby’s for like $35k. Not sure how the current version is going to turn out though…

For those on the Cerises hunt: Preorders do indeed open today. I have contacted 1800 customer service who will be providing me a purchase link for 3pm (with a classic LV disclaimer in case things go pear shaped rather than cherry).

I’d suggest contacting 1800 with your queries and order requests unless you want to go via your regular SA.

I’ll be ordering the Poche Toilette and the Pte Cles Cerise.

I'm curious if the fabric on the beach chair is the same denim as the handbags, or if it's a trompe l'oeil reproduction of the denim printed onto cotton canvas or poly material (like how some of the silks are printed to look like denim). If the fabric is the same jacquard denim material, I may buy one or two chairs just to repurpose the fabric. 🤔
