Lord and Taylor Counterfeit Products

Lord and Taylor is selling counterfeit products and has been doing so for over a year now. They know their products are fake and I am flabbergasted that this is being allowed. I purchased a gucci bag in december and thought it looked off. Had it looked at by 2 professional authenticator and it was a counterfeit. Many reviews on line also say that they are selling fake products. Yes, I should have read them first, but like many people I thought lord and taylor was a trusted store. I have even seen it stated on here that it can be trusted. Lord and Taylor went out of business a few years ago. An investment group bought the name for 12 million, opened an online store only and started selling counterfeit products. If you purchased from then in the last year it is probably a fake bag. I spent two thousand dollars. I returned the bag and received a refund but I am aghast that this company has been allowed to operate legally in the us. Take my warning and do not purchase from Lord and Taylor.

I also wanted to rely to this thread. I bought a Saint Laurent Kate bag from Lord & Taylor for Christmas. I recently tried to trade it in via Fashionphile for another bag and discovered that the bag is a fake/counterfeit. I did reach out to Lord & Taylor and they refuse to take the bag back.
Please share with others as a big warning and buyer beware.

I have a feeling gucci did threaten some sort of legal action and ysl because all new gucci and ysl bags were pulled from there website a couple weeks ago. They are still selling a handful of preowned bags but that's it. I reported the counterfeits to gucci and I'm sure I wasnt the only one.
They must have as I bought a fake YSL bag from them November 2022. I can only reach them via chat, email and SMS messaging and they refuse to give me my money back. It’s very discouraging.

Yep. Disgusting company. They KNOWINGLY did this. For. Profit. Look into a chargeback if possible or taking them to small claims court. I would have had they not refunded me. This is a crime.
Plus, isn’t is illegal to sell counterfeit goods in the United States? I’m not sure if my credit card company would be able to help me as I bought the bag in November, but I will definitely look into it. I spoke via chat to a Lord & Taylor representative and they refuse to give me a refund so they definitely know what they’re doing. I just want to spread the word so that no one else will be scammed by them.

I would definately try a chargeback with your credit card company.

Go through your CC. It is illegal to sell counterfeits, it's not a discretionary return, L&T have no right to your money.

On the subject of Gucci, do any of you Gucci ladies know about the Gucci bags that are selling on TJMaxx online? I have a Marmont (approx 9x 6 and 2 inches deep) that I have not used and I can still return. How can I authenticate (fast - as my return window is getting shorter) ??? Many thanks for any help. I bought Gucci years ago from Saks or Neiman- Marcus, but this is the first Guccii’ve bought in a long time; I saw this on their online website and loved it, but now worried since reading this about L&T. Not exactly cheap at $1400. It’s a black cross body with brass GG on one side and quilted GG on other.

I don’t think we have any recommendations for a Gucci authenticator unfortunately. We used to have an authentication thread but it closed.

I would be very careful about tj maxx as they have been known to sell fakes. Bethenny Frankel just did a thing about how she was duped on a pair of fake manolos.

Thank you. I am spooked and will most likely return. But would love to hear from anyone with experience with TJMaxx designer bag purchases

It would have to be Gucci designer purchases and would prefer if you open a new thread if not to do with L&T, TY

I purchased a Gucci marmont from L&T last year and was a little skeptical about the authenticity of it but put those thoughts out of my head because I though L&T was a reputable site. I just recently found out that Gucci has sued L&T and accused it of selling fake bags.

Have you attempted to have your CC do a chargeback? were you successful? I feel literally sick for being taken advantage of as a consumer this way.

Yikes! That is awful. Thank you so much for the warning. I’m glad you were able to get a full refund, but sorry that you had to waste your time and money on authentication services. Such a shame. L&T used to be such an iconic NYC dept store.
I am just now seeing this and other postings regarding the counterfeit bags being sold by Lord and Taylor. I was just a victim of this scam, purchasing what was alleged to be an authentic Louis Vuitton tote but what arrived was a knock off/counterfeit product. They are funneling this through Afterpay and I haven't received any assistance from them to obtain a refund.

There are other stories floating around now. A story in NY times talks about a woman who ordered a tray from Saks, and got a can of tuna...another who ordered a MCM bag, and got a used one...a person who tried to make a return, just to be told that the item she was trying to return was never made by the company. So many people are having problems with being sent fake bags, shoes, house hold items, that many stores are now afraid of getting a fake for a return. Lord and Taylor, they are a real problem. I recently had a issue with The RealReal, and their "insurance" that you pay for. Won't be buying or selling with them again. Other than Gucci and their tamper-tape, I'm not sure how to combat this. When I asked someone at the Dallas Police Dept., after a package theft, I was told that sometimes it's someone in the store that is sending out the item, and sometimes it may be someone at the shipper, seeing a premium store, and then they open the box, insert something of a similar weight, and close it back. Just to sell the real item online.
