Any step cut looks great with the center stone. Another option, can’t find a photo right now would be to have 1 or 2 non-tapered baguettes mounted parallel on each side. If using 2 on each side then the outside baguette would be smaller than the one next to the center stone. Perhaps someone has a photo.

What about these? I think I’m getting charged for a custom setting anyways so I want to get something a bit unusual...

I think it would be busy looking. The attraction of the emerald cut is the modern, clean icyness of it. Tiny little pave’s or any round stones will just detract.
Even micropave? I guess the crux of the issue is that I like the halo concept just not with my center stone. So I’m trying to add a bit of halo to my new setting. And emerald cuts are set with tapered baguettes 99% of the time:frown:

If you like it then go for it! Personally, I prefer a clean look with emerald cuts especially without halos. The East/West orientation is not very flattering. For me emerald cuts are all about chunky, icy, simple and clean. Here are a few more ideas. I like this first one, perhaps without the bullets.

You’re right. Last night was momentary halo insanity. I don’t want a halo around my center stone...

I love the second pic with the double prongs. Not fussy and shows off your center stone. Classic yet modern. Plus the choice of bands are endless. A band can change the look dramatically! Good luck and keep us posted.................

I wish I had a photo of my old e-ring from my first husband. The stone was massive (I gave it back after we split) but it was a very unusual yet simple setting designed to showcase the stone. It was gold, and the left side of the band swooped up to hold the upper left corner of the stone. The right side of the band swooped down to hold the lower right corner of the stone. Simple small prongs held the opposing corners. I might have to draw a sketch

Sounds interesting but I can’t picture it in my head...

Any progress? We would love to see your final choice and the finished ring!
You ladies have certainly given me lots to think about!

My jeweler is working on a cad drawing based on the ideas that I sent to him. I wasn’t able to find an image of anything exactly perfect. So I’m combining elements from a few different rings. The results should be interesting!

The only thing I’m wavering on is the side stones. Originally I had wanted to reuse my current baguettes. But I keep on looking at the bullet shaped diamonds. What do you ladies think of that shape? Or what about mini asschers as side stones?

Hopefully I will have a finished product in the next 2 to 3 weeks.

The bullets aren’t all that different from the baguettes and may not be worth it unless you can trade the baguettes. Asscher are not my favorite for side stones. Skinny emerald or non-taperd baguettes mounted parallel to the center look awesome.
