Looking at engagement rings... we know nothing. Any advice?

It's gone better with the looking and sales people not letting them sink their teeth into us!
I realized I love a vintage style ring with a lot of detail. It's hard to find one that is dripping with detail and not a big name brand... well, we found one jeweler that has fantastic work and it is just dripping with fine detail and it's a bit less than a name brand... but this jeweler doesn't have "the one."
I do love what I see by Tacori-- is Tacori extremely popular? I just wouldn't want something I see everywhere. I am only just now noticing engagement rings.

This is an incredibly personal choice- the only advice I would give is to choose a sturdy, non-tarnishing metal like platinum or even titanium. You're wearing it forever so it needs to be tough!

Congratulations!

I also want to add, don't RUSH!!!

Take your time browsing...no matter how impatient you may be. You'll "know" once you find the perfect stone, but don't deny yourself the fun of shopping around for the perfect ring for YOU!

It's like buying a house. I know as soon as I open the door whether to continue the tour or not! Same with a ring....or wedding dress. The stone/ring will find you!

i adore tacori. it's the setting that i've picked out for mine. there's only one jeweler in the city that carries it. so we went down there and i browsed. i knew as soon as i put it on that it was the one.

the SA then wrote down all of the information and exchange info with BF, that way when he is ready he will go buy it himself and know what i want.

awesome advise here (and i second Swanky with the pricescope warning as i found it a bit full on at first ... great for diamond porn though) ... my big thing is to try on settings/shapes/sizes that you wouldnt normally think of ... i jumped into my setting (i was propsed to with a diamond) and never tried any others on ... its our first anniversary this month and im getting my stone reset into a setting thats more 'me' ... wish id done some trying on before!

this is all excellent advice here adore, i really have nothing to add that hasn't been said already! GOOD LUCK, this is such an exciting time!!! i wish you the very best of luck, and i know you will find the ring of your dreams! :girlsigh:
