I can, and do, but preloved LVs all the time for the same or less than the price of a real Coach, RM or MK...not an inferior quality outlet bag. Especially if you buy in Epi leather (no logos on them). The quality is better and I can use it for as long as I want and sell it for at least what I paid for it, if not more. Can’t do that with any of those brands...
Why wouldn’t I buy a bag from the maker who actually designed it then, instead of a dupe?

I have found that all of my Coach Outlet purchases have been pretty high quality. Obviously, preloved LV's from the 90s are probably a different story, but when I go into the LV boutique and compare my Coach Outlet purse to something on the LV shelves, I really don't see much of a difference. In fact, I like some of my Coach pieces better.

I have found Coach Outlet to be a mixed bag. I have a tote made of thick pebbled leather that is great. I also had a mini Bennett and matching wallet that were gifts and were crap...thin cheap feeling leather with a coating on it, the wallet insides were thin vinyl...I sold them ASAP. I compared my full price Prairie satchel I got as a gift to the one they started stocking at the outlet....not even close. But if I tried to sell it, I instantly have to compete with outlet pricing and the resale on my full price, top line bag goes down by 75% or more new with tags still on. That’s not right or fair.

You can also buy bags that are extraordinary quality for under $100-150 second hand from makers like Bally and Lancel that are heads and shoulders above mid-tier brands if you don’t really care about labels. Think leather lined, superior leather, superior construction. Bags that cost $750 and up new and were worth it. But because the names are not as popular here in the US as they are in Europe, the demand/prices for resale are crappy. Most of the time you can snap these bags up for $50-100 in great condition (maybe need a go over with a baby wipe and leather conditioner, tops) and use them for the rest of your life.
If you go old enough with most brands you can get great deals. Prada bags were better years ago. Lined in leather/made in Italy.
You can get a vintage Prada for a small fraction of the price of a new - made in China - one. Just depends on whether you think being current is more important or you want quality for a good price.

Just saw this on lv Instagram. So they are not exactly the same but as soon as I saw the lv I thought RM. View attachment 4954333View attachment 4954334
Oh wow!! I really like that LV bag! Hmmm, who's design came out first? Remember when Marc Jacobs was the head designer at LV? He came out with 2 bags that looked exactly like his own line....The Manhattan PM and GM...which I hated because they looked like his designs (the Venetia and the Blake)....like, he couldn't come up with something more original?

RM bag has been out for a bit and I don’t think the lv is out yet. Interesting. And yes I loved when Marc Jacobs designed for LV. People still talk about how great it was then
