I have the small mailbox in sage and I do like it very much actually.

What an in-depth review! Definitely very helpful for some of us whom do not have any boutique nearby. Thank you for taking the time to share. I agree with the Mailbox's base. It is indeed a tad wide and juts out if worn crossbody. Interesting that the straps are all different. I experienced that with my Roseau Essential bucket bag too. The one I bought in Manchester was shorter than the one I tried at my local boutique.

Shorter strap length of my sage mailbox such that it’s at a comfortable drop for shoulder carry and uncomfortably short for crossbody (not pictured). I’m 5”5 for reference. The strap is detachable though so there’s always the option to switch out to a different strap or alter if the length doesn’t suit you.

Love that it’s lined with matching fabric with the galloping horse logo.
Sorry it’s a bit dark here now so the lighting is not great.

I use the long strap for shoulder carry if I’m on the go, otherwise if I’m just bringing it to office at work and going by car then sometimes I just carry hand held without the long strap
The top handles can be carried by hand or in the crook of your arm easily, but definitely not on the shoulder for the small size.

@windnocturne, your Mailbox looks great on you. I have always liked the Mailbox line, but in the past I didn’t consider getting one for myself because the gold hardware doesn’t work for me. Now I can’t stop thinking about this new black one coming out for the holidays with smooth leather, patent trim and gunmetal hardware.

Awww thanks Cosmo! You should definitely consider, it’s a petite bag that punches above its weight (literally) for sure.

So I ordered my very first Mailbox from Nordstrom Rack. It’s a medium and too big for me. If I were just to wear it by the handle or shoulder with the non-adjustable strap, it could work. However, I like to fill my bag so I think the bag could get heavy so I need a crossbody option.
The color is Marmalade. It’s a combo of the usual Mailbox leather and suede. I think it’s beautiful, and I do love it but I’m going with a small in a different color when the season sales start. I’m at home and dressed very casually (after my long business travel day yesterday). I’m 5 foot even and 110 lbs. This is what the medium looks like on me. As a crossbody, it’s too bulky.

I like the mailbox line but I agree with you that it is too bulky. Even for the small in taupe, which I really like when it first launched was too big to be worn crossbody. It jutted out too.

I have the same bag and love it! I only handcarry it or on crook of nu arm. I'm 1m70cm and it doesn’t look too big. Yours looks quite large actually, but that might just be the angle of the picture!

Well it’s certainly a gorgeous bag. The craftsmanship is superb. After the responses I’ve gotten to my post and the video that Seton shared, I’m going try it out around my home for a day or two (or three) before I decide just to return it. I have 29 days to decide.

Okay, this is weird, I’m also 5ft tall and I just purchased this exact bag from Nordstrom rack and I’m waiting for it to be delivered now. I was wondering if the color is more of an orange or a brownish tan type color? Also, When I read the description on Longchamp.com it said the material is split velvet calfskin, please tell me this one isn’t suede bc it’s a lower end version of the real thing, I’ll be so disappointed if that’s the case. I’m also bummed it’s that big. Definitely don’t need another big purse. Man, I thought I was getting a great deal.

Aw man, looks like I’ll be returning mine as well. I’m not a huge fan of orange and I don’t need another large bag. I did notice they have a small version on the Nordstrom Rack website now, but not sure if I will go for it since it looks pretty orange.
