"Logos are out...except for LV of course"

i think what happens with logos is that they pronounce their presence. it's like, here i am! ____________ brand.

and while one or two is okay

if you start to have a flood of market with the same logo bag, regardless of whether its real or fake

you kind of go, "she has the same bag as me" and its somehow not as "special" anymore.

the thing that i love about coach is that they turn out with bags, new ones, every month, and if a bag is popular they will discontinue it *hamptons medium carryall in khaki/chestnut is no longer in production*

that is why, not everyone will have the same bag. it also feeds to our need to have something new, at a more alarming speed. that's also why the H&Ms and forever and zaras work (not that i'm comparing them quality wise!) because they can turn out clothes faster and constantly have new styles and once you miss it you miss it.

that's just IMO

I think that if someone says LV's monogram is superior to Coach signature...that is their opinion but I tend to see all designers as equal, and frankly I prefer Coach. I do not see nearly as many faked sig bags as I do the LV speedy (just today at Lowe's I saw 4 and I could tell by that horrible orangy handle and not the honey brown).

I think its great that Coach discontinues popular bags because it gives versatility in the world of Coach lovers. Imagine if we all had the same bag and all posted the same picture of the same bag that we all loved....wouldn't that be redundant.

*dies a little bit inside*
knew I should have jumped on that when I had the chance...lovely bag.

yes, coach is faked. a lot. but lv is rampant. and, i'll admit that if i see a lv, i usually assume it's fake (unless i can get a good look at it)- ESPECIALLY if i know it's a style that is pricier.

sadly, I have to agree 100% with that.

but again, JMO

I'm surprised no LV lovers have jumped on this thread.
I also tend to assume that LVs are fake until I get a good look at them.
I'm not a huge fan of Coach signature either. I have some bags that are (like Scribble, which granted is one of the more attention grabbing ones) but my every day bags are plain leather and the sig bags are more for fun nights out and stuff.

Funny. I have a couple mono LVs, but I get the most compliments from strangers, co-workers, etc. on my Coach bags. I don't know why people are so down on Coach - the leather is beautiful and the customer service is excellent.

Happens to me all the time. I guess when I wear LV the assume it is fake.

I can see preferring the look of one mono over another. Just like some people here prefer the khaki to the black or vice versa. Just because I don't mind an occasional logo Coach bag doesn't mean I like Guess logos or D&B logos.

But you are absolutely right that personal preference doesn't make other logos tacky.

I love LV (the majority of my collection IS LV) but if they're going to say "logos are out" then that includes EVERYTHING from EVERY designer/brand.
Anyway, whatever...we carry what we like, not what people think is "in"..geez. If I stopped carrying MY logo LV bags because people hated them then I wouldn't have any bags left..but I buy what I love and I don't really think it's anyone's place to say that one thing is "in" or not.

I love mono LV and (most) signature Coach. I don't like the denim mono LV and a few of the signature Coach color combos aren't my fave either.

ITA with LVbabydoll: "...I buy what I love and I don't really think it's anyone's place to say that one thing is "in" or not."

The funny thing is, I used to hate every single logo except for Coach. Not sure why. This was even before I got into bags. Maybe it's the most aesthetically pleasing logo to me? I never like DB or Gucci or LV. Fendi was okay. I still don't like DB or Gucci but I learned to love LV. I've always loved Coach's logo though (signature print).

I agree with that thought for the time being it's logo overkill and overlaod and everyone is wearing logos

i think in about a year i will be willing to wear any of my signature pieces out in public again
