The hamster puzzle is a bit over priced at USD 2990 if it's just an embossing versus 2650 for a plain version but I'm telling myself the octopus marquetry is a little more justifiable (not really) at 3150. The whale small puzzle seems maybe reasonably priced when looking at the other special versions
The pricing feels a little inconsistent IMO. 450 GBP for the felt charms is steep, especially considering the first collection offered additional leather work and more intricate detail (think lemur charm). Agree the puzzles don't align price-wise with some having marquetry and some not. Definitely some super cute pieces but I'm not blown away tbh

I’m skipping puzzles this time around, the squid one almost feels like a design afterthought, the octopus placement makes me think of a splat, the whale is impressive but I think you’d get equivalent marquetry on the tote or pebble at a much better price (tho why are we thinking value at these prices lol). Trying really hard to swerve away from the charms and slgs. The blankets are also really expensive for what they are, at least until hysteria takes me when I’m in a store

Yes, totally! Agree with all of this. And of course it's luxury pricing, and price increases abound. I'm just not seeing the value for money in this collection compared to last years drop, with the exception of a small selection of bags which seem more fairly priced. Maybe the second drop will deliver though?

I love this shirt, but at over 2k think I'll pass 😅

Looking at the pictures on the website it doesn't look like the green and beige bunny items have marquetry unless I'm wrong but the bunny over the moon things do the check flamenco on the site also seems different less busy than some of the earlier sneek peaks with no fluffy tales I can't decide between the green flamenco the check flamenco the moon bunny cookie pouch or a wallet or the octopus cubi. Or hold off and wait to see if there's a drop 2 and what's part of it

I think the green flamenco is a good one if you like the colour and the octopus cubi also great if you think you'd get the wear out of that style. If I could justify another brown bag I'd be buying the hamster mini flamenco. Would liked to have seen more of the stuffed cheek hamster across the collection, but maybe there's more to come 🤔

The hamster with the stuffed cheeks seems to be linked to the octopus because its looks like it's hidden in the octopus items I do like the greens but also like the moons so much for being decisive

For anyone interested in the Submarine small Postal bag in nappa calfskin, it may be more widely available than reported. Might want to check in with a store nearest to you about it.

I am in a similar position - have seen quite a few pieces of the collection and also tried on the RTW, but the pricing is all over the place this time with some really (IMO) extortionate pricing or a higher price but less detailing (eg the octopus felt charm is pricier than the mandrake felt charm I got in the last collection and yet the mandrake charm at least had leather leaves as part of it).

Also in person many of the pieces failed to wow me - it's a fine line between whimsical kiddishness and outright a bit too cutesy and cheesy, and I don't think that many pieces hit the mark this time. Eg the Amazona 44 is positioned as a men's bag, but the rabbit print (not even marquetry!) just feels like it would require a very unique aesthetic for most men to consider.

It's not like we are not getting anything (we in the end confirmed one metal anagram charm, three tees and the whale pebble tote), but we certainly were struggling to find pieces that we felt was more worth the pricy buy-in.

I believe the bunny and the moon items have marquetry but the other items with the smaller motifs like the repeating hamsters and bunnies all seem to be just debossing. At least those that we saw in person. To me the bunny cookie pouch looks great in person, BUT the way the chain works on the pouch (for you to hang the pouch to a bag or similar) means the rabbit doesn't "sit" upright (hopefully the image explains it better than me). It's a major downside for me as I was really considering getting it for my partner.

Personally, I find this collection lazy. And my wallet is very happy, having spent crazy amount of money on the last drop. This time there seems to be no joy in the collection, it's like someone here said - as if the details had been added as an afterthought, sort of 'we need to put something on a plain bag and make it sell as a special collection.' Actually very grateful to Loewe for this laziness ;)

So agree with all of this and glad it’s not just me! I know finding value for money in a luxury brand context is not everyones angle, but from a brand loyalty pov this collection is a bit all over the place and some of the pricing is crazy. And yes afterthought is spot on.

@despair - your insights are so helpful, thanks! I’m tempted by the bunny/moon anagram charm. I’ve seen the measurements online, but is it very very small? I’m guessing at 8cm the anagram itself is about half that measurement. Do you have an in person pic of your octopus charm for scale at all?
