YAY! HF![]()
Yeah, I'm not a huge tiffany's fan, but I do like the shape better. If I were to pass it down or something, the brand does add to it. It would be a no brainer if the smaller one worked well, since it's the same price, but I think the medium is more my style. I'd have to save up a little longer for the tiffany locket, but it's my end-of-year gift to myself, so we'll see. I also absolutely love the Olympian charms because I'm a huge nerd, so I might add one on (silver though, because the gold is crazy expensive).
Yea, that's right, YAY to HF
So, if you're not a huge fan of tiffany's, i think you could probably just go out to jewelry stores and search for your locket that way. I think the design from Tiffany's is simple and you'd be likely to find something of that shape...i mean, it's just oval, right? And also you'd most likely get a better grade of gold than what Tiffany's has to offer. But...you also mentioned that you would probably want to pass this item down and the 'brand factor' is definitely nice. Definitely go out to jewelry stores to look around because you'd be able to broaden your selection.
I like the Tiffany's one better; it seems to have a more rounded shape which I like (at least from what I can tell from the pictures).
My preference would always be vintage or antique. You can find some great buys for gold and even diamond set pieces for your price point.
