I really want to try a HH Havana...
I've seen these, great bags! You can count on HH for good quality, it's a shame they're not putting out as many bags anymore.

I really want to try a HH Havana...
I have four Havanas...it's really one of my favorite hobos. It's got exterior pockets and is pretty comfy on the shoulder. I like the shape of it a lot.
For those of you that have a med Dylan tote and a MAM, which do you prefer, why? Or are they like children, and you love them all the same
Do you LP/RM fans think I could use a MAM? Or would it feel redundant to the med Dylan tote?
Well, I have the Medium Dylan tote and I had both the MAM and the MAB. The shape is so different (LP's rectanglular/slouchy bag vs. RM's barrel shaped/structured bags) so it's almost like comparing apples to oranges, but I'd say the Medium Dylan tote holds about the same as the MAB. The MAM is holds slightly less than what the Medium Dylan tote would hold IMO.
Now, I'm no science major or anything but if you calculate the volume from each bag's dimensions, the capacity of the Med Dylan tote and the MAB are pretty close whereas the MAM is very much smaller.
LP Medium Dylan Tote: 15" w x 13" l x 5 1/2" d = 1072.5 inch^3
RM MAB: 14" x 8.5" x 9" = 1071 inch^3
RM MAM: 12.5" x 6" x 8" = 600 inch^3

^^^ And Carmelita, to answer your question, I don't know if I could really compare both since of their different shapes. I don't have my MAM anymore, but the MAM was more convenient to use because it's not as deep as the Dylan tote and I could find my things better. I love the look of the Dylan tote, but since it's so much deeper, I have to plunge my arm into the bag to get something out.
And although the Dylan tote holds more than the MAM, I find myself putting the same amount I used to put into my MAM into my Dylan tote because of its north/south shape. If I wanted my Dylan tote to hold more things, I'd have to "stack" my things into it since it's slimmer and taller than the MAM.

I have both and to me they are very different bags. My MAM actually holds a lot! I think the dimensions listed on websites are off. I always have plenty of room left over in my MAM, just like I do the Dylan. My MAM (avatar pic) is a little dressier? If that is the word I am looking for. My Dylan feels a little more casual and great to wear with jeans. I really love them both for different reasons. I say everyone needs at least one of each!

The Dylan tote is comfy to carry, but sometimes it's hard to find my stuff because it is so deep.
oluxurious - Thank-you for putting together the size comparison, interesting. And you may not be a geek, but you're pretty smart to be cubing your inches! I am a scientist and never thought to compare sizes that way
