This thread has been so insightful. I'm wondering if there should be a separate thread for "raw materials" from limited editions. Has there been a true limited edition other than the holiday pendants in last few years?

You may be ok, fingers crossed for you. As you know, in the past ~2 years your one set per year was the five and 20 of the same stone, very occasionally they would let you mix and match, but the official policy was that it had to be the same stone set that was taken. Now they are allowing some mix-and-match again. In the previous ~2 years usually mix and match was only approved when the set was not available at the same time together, or if a client already had one piece of the set in their purchase history or for the very top customers worldwide to choose exactly what they wanted. Now they are allowing mix and match or only purchasing one piece of a set again. You are allowed 2 sets per year now, so four pieces total per year, two necklaces and two bracelets, but I do not personally know how that works when mixing stones (if you are limited to 4 pieces with 2 stones; but I think it is any 4 pieces of any rare materials stone that they are able to offer you). I’m hoping that you can report back your good news in the future. I am not able to buy Amazonite now, but I was also told that the next wave would come around September/October.

No one ever mentioned about a quota to me but that piece would have been too many according to this system. I had very good lucks last year. Interesting also I never have received an offer for a full set at one time no matter the path of offer or delivery that has been the strange one, sending photos then by courier, in person as surprise with other business in boutique or special invitation to appointment. So of course exception can be the rule as always at dear VCA but I am glad this mystery may be solved.

I am curious about how they decide the materials to offer. Like mentioned above, I never was offered as set and also never offered choice between materials so it is at my SA pace that I have completed rare materials sets and no idea why they offer certain choice at certain time.

My guess there is a ranking of exclusivity obsidian is the least competitive lapis and turquoises most but do not know if there is any difference between lapis and turquoises besides clients preference and not sure if rc is more or less competitive to pietersite

There are several factors to consider: are you in a region where they sometimes operate outside of strict VCA protocols that are followed elsewhere, and/or are you in a region where there are a huge amount of very top tier clients who would have few corperate rules applied to them and have their choice of only one item vs the set and/or mix and match and/or already have one of the pave alternating 20 motifs so can get the bracelet seperately to complete the set later when it becomes available and is able to be offered to the next level of VVVIP clients (etc)? Middle East/Dubai is the one that I know of personally through a friend who has VVIP staus there and has had offers flow differently than in USA/UK/European markets, but there could be other places in the world where it is similar.

In regards to whether there is a ranking within the same tier of rare materials, in practicality yes, but I think a large amount of this is because you cannot separate desirability of one of the materials versus actual qualifications to purchase. Eg Pietersite and Obsidian were meant to be on the same tier when launched, but Obsidian was less popular/has more availability, so it is “easier to get” even though the origional buyer qualifications were the same at the time of the launch. So even at the time of the launch, if in one instance: X people qualified to be offered both, the 1st declined both, the 2nd took Pietersite, the 3rd and 4th declined Obsidian, the 6th took it, then Obsidian was “easier” even if a client needed to be in the same client tier in order to qualify to buy it. A huge oversimplification, but the best way I can think to explain it.

Now this is all adjusted of course.

Now I think sunlight would do this piece more justice, but here is it in comparison to turquoise (in a variety of shades), rhodonite (because others said it had similar texture), and the 2022 HP.
It is unreal. My jaw literally dropped when I opened the box. I was expecting to love it, but it is way more mesmerizing than I thought it would be!
The stones are quite varied and some have quite a bit of white in them. I love it, gives it a lot of character. Photos are either taken with flash or just under kitchen lighting…
It definitely has a crystalline look to it. Too bad it doesn’t have an accompanying bracelet…Though the TQ is a good backup

@A bottle of Red I agree with you! To be honest it would be similar to the 2022 HP just a bit brighter and with more character… my HP may also be faded as i’ve worn it so much.

Picked up my rare materials pieces today. I’m told the quota is 2 pieces per person. I picked TQ 5 motif and 20 motif RC. There was Lapis/Pave 5 and 20 motif, silver obsidian, veined onyx to choose from. Amazonite has yet to arrive…

One of my friends insisted that she saw the pic of Amazonite 5P and sent me this pic.

Yes it’s Malachite. I was having it shortened. There is no Amazonite 5 motif. The IG account is also not mine.. I guess someone used my pic and just made it up.

I don’t have my receipt to hand. It was €17,800 from memory. Lapis was even more expensive, I don’t remember the exact price but I know it was more than TQ.
