Thank you @redheaddem and @Ladybaga for your previous help.
I now need a recommendation from your two and other scarf aficionados with respect to the giant triangle versus a stole. This would be a gift for my friend who’s always cold in air conditioned buildings. She plays the piano regularly for her church, so with that type of physical movement in mind, which large scarf (tied or untied) would be better for her shoulder and arm movements? I’m also thinking of getting her cashmere but I’m wondering if that’s too much weight while playing.
Thanks everybody for your advice.
Hi Cool Breeze!
I would recommend a GT cashmere. They are very lightweight, so no issue on heaviness. Although, I don’t have a GT in cashmere/silk, I have tried them on in store. I think she would be able to wear it in a variety of ways.
I have a cashmere/silk stole from 2011(?) in the Brazil design, but not sure if H makes these stole styles with prints anymore. The giant mufflers would be hefty, I assume.
I have seen stoles in solids and they look to be lightweight.
A GT can still be worn like a shawl so she could tie the corners of it in the front but a stole may give more arm coverage than the GT . Not sure the stole long enough to tie in a knot?
It may be more “ muffler length” to tie a stole in front so that it doesn’t slip off?

Thank you for your useful insights. The GT appears to be the best contender in terms of weight and versatility. I’m. Looking forward to seeing it in person, and comparing it with a GM and a stole. My friend and I are petite sized women, so I should be able to determine which will be the most comfortable and practical of the three. I’ll let everyone know what I decide after my trip in June. Thanks again for your help

Giant Triangles have been around a while, how are you enjoying yours (or not)?

I just bought my first Giant Triangle cashmere (SS25 Robe Legere)

I don't have a huge amount of cashmere scarves (5). 2 GMs + 2 100s and now + GT.
I wear the 100s more than the GMs, but I still love my GMs. The GMs are more cold weather only. The 100s are more versatile, like a cashmere version of a silk 90, a format I am so used to. They are easier to easily fold and stick in my bag when I need to too. There is something very opulent and luxe about a GM and something quite fuss-free about the (mens) 100s. Unlike silks, I have always been concerned by having too many cashmeres, so when I buy one it has to be:

Wearable
Versatile
Beautiful (goes without saying)

First impressions on the GT format is it's a perfect weight and size for wearable cashmere in the Spring or for indoors. It's more than just a triangle though,, as the length of the longer width points makes it easy work 'backwards' or forwards just draped, but also easy to wrap or secure with an almost imperceivable knot if need be. It can be worn traditionally draped over the shoulders symmetrically (nice for evening over the right dress) but as I had a play at H last night, I quickly found another 4 ways I was happy with, tying it different ways.

I haven't even worn it once yet and it's already creased from being in a square 90 box overnight.
Why don't H make triangle boxes?

How are you enjoying your Giant Triangle?
What are some of the format's challenges?
How are you tying yours?
When are you wearing it?
Are you defaulting to one way or are you exploring and regularly finding new ways?
We are GT twins! This is also my 1st GT. Haven't had a chance to wear it it yet as home is in sunny island all year long. But will find a way to wear it! I was hesitant to buy it initially but was drawn to the pretty colors of this GT. Though I must admit, I am not a fan of flowers, but boy, this is really a pretty GT! :)

I LOVE giant triangle scarves!!!! They're perfect for transitional weather and a great layering piece. The cashmere composition also helps keep me warm when I'm bundled up in the winter time. I thought I'd struggle with styling since there's less fabric (=less to work with) compared to the 140 formats, but they're surprisingly versatile. My absolute favorite way to wear one is to drape it casually and let the ends hang long like in the picture (ft. arcs-end-ciel giant triangle).

I love how you styled this @Kimchoi12, so pretty with your white jacket. I will try this knot too. Did you fold on the bias first, or did you leave the point hanging in the back?

Really gorgeous, I hope you will be able to share some more GTs/ mod shots from time to time.

I fold on the bias first and make a loop around my neck. I then tie the ends but make sure to tie it around the loop if that makes sense?

I hope so too! This is my only giant triangle scarf that I have because I haven't been able to find a current design/color combo that works for me. But I'm (not so patiently) waiting to see what the f/w collection has to offer so I can add more!

Almost pulled the trigger on the tulipomanie giant triangle in blanc/noir/gris but didn't. I barely wear the cashmere silks I already have!

I will continue admiring posts in this thread.
