Hi Much, all my MP (2012, 2013, 2014), the leather seems heavily coated. I tried to apply moisturizer to mine, it just didn't work. I was wondering if it's meant to look "shiny but crackly" . That's why i said i love the style, but hate the leather. I do hope you have better luck with yours.
Try see if you can find them in 2010 & 2011 if you are going for more
I will, it's just hard to find the mini in colours that I'd wear, most of the ones I've seen have been in brighter colours. I'll let you know if I find a way to "age' the leather a bit, I can feel underneath the coating, if that makes sense, that there's good leather there!
Not really stiff (ok,stiff if you're comparing it to an old chevre, which most of mine are), but as peace says, shiny but crackly. If I can find a way to get that to soften I think the leather will be fine. Will keep you posted...
Oh, ok, I know what you mean. Just try a few thin layer of moisturizing, that´ll be the bes imo.. let us know. Please, could you post a closer pic of her?

I don't have a pic yet, but I bought my 2nd Bal. (During Neiman Marcus promotion the other day.) So by buying the full size metallic city, I will receive a $500 gift card from NM in 8 weeks. I couldn't pass it up! I was going to get the new small city next but.... (I currently have a mini city which I am so in love with.)
Here are a couple of pics taken in bright sunlight, the colour in the pics is fairly close to the actual colour. I can't help think that once she softens up a bit more the leather is going to be good, but she needs wear. I'm going to try to hasten the process
and see if I can remove some of the coating, but gently, gently...

Honestly, the leather is so amazing I don't regret it at all! I've always felt kind of meh on black bags, but this is the first one I'm head over heels in love with!! It's perfect

Thanks!! And...did you say they have the metal plate in the Town?? I didn't see any at the store-only the gold plate city in pink.
It was a preloved one that I saw. I think the Town is being phased out.
