In Epi the closest style would be the Soufflot.
I had exactly the same dilemna : Papillon 30, mono or damier.
Until now I didn´t care much about the damier, and when I saw them for real and tried them on I realized that Damier suits better that style !
For me it was bc the brown straps make better contrast with the patterm, and it is darker in general which flatters the cylindrical shape.
BTW the small pouch is so cute !
And if you have mostly mono patterns it might be a nice add to your collection.

Damier b/c of the lovely chocolate brown handles. I have the 30 in Mono and I can only hand carry it or put it on my arm (some ladies can actually put it on their shoulder) so the handles get...well, handled a lot!

I have the papillion 30 in mono and it goes with everything. I fancy the speedy in damier. Good luck with your purchase.

Get the damier papillon! I have the papillon 26 in mono, and I totally regret not getting it in damier. It's so classy looking and easier to maintain.

OK i'm leaning towards the Damier now. i think it does look better for the Papillon. anyway, i have enough Monogram Canvas pieces -- well, I will after I get the Batignolles Horizontal , which i fell in love with after I bought it for my mom -- and as sma11cat said, I don't have anything in Damier yet.

damier!! i have the 30 and love love love it! I agree the damier pattern brings out the shape of the pap so much better! i love the contrast between the very square checkerboard patern and the roundness of the papillon.
