Another great rehab, kate! It looks beautiful. What do you use to condition all your rehabs?

Thanks!

I'm like "the mad chemist" I have a whole shelf full of conditioners and rehabbing products! I may shop for bargain bags but I spend a lot on products! :graucho:

For this bag I used Leather CPR conditioner and that helped a lot but it still had some scuffs and scratches the piping still looked worn in a few areas, so I also used Black Rock Leather n Rich.

Black Rock can darken leather but since this bag is black I wasn't worried about it.

Here are some more after pics. The bag is very similar in size, shape, and style to my black Stewardess Bag so I think that I am going to give this bag to one of my sisters.

Amazing! I just recently purchased this bag in a fair condition. Now I know the potential she has! I love the feet on the bag. They just give it class!

I know! My stewardess bag and some of my Italian Coach bags have feet and I love that feature! I look forward to seeing your Legacy Zip, too!

I gave the black legacy zip bag to my Sister today and she loved it. She was really excited and said "I've never had a Coach bag!" and she asked me all kinds of questions about it and how to care for it. I know that it has gone to a good home! :D

:smooch: what a nice sister you are- I am sure she will cherish that bag forever, and just think of the story she has to tell with it..

As promised here are some pics of my almost vintage (she's 16) new-to-me Lulu's legacy drawstring in yummy rich chocolate!

I've been away from tPF too long and missed these. Love this bag!!. I'm so sad I sold my red Lula's Legacy but I can't keep all the strays I keep bringing home LOL....(as my husband keeps reminding me):p

Such a nice gift, and it sounds like its going to be much loved and cared for, which is what makes what we do, -rescuing vintage bags...so much fun!

Yes, I know that this bag will be appreciated and taken care of, the sister that I gave it to is a lot like me. She appreciates fine things. She is the first person I had ever seen using a purse hook (for her vera bradley bag.)

I had previously given a brown legacy satchel to another sister (see link below) and I had some misgivings when I gave it to her because she is NOT like me. She doesn't show care or appreciation for lovely, fine objects. I decided to give it to her because I had seen her carrying a disgustingly dirty bag - I couldn't imagine carrying a bag that looked so bad! I thought "maybe if she has a good bag she might learn to take better care of things" but I was wrong.

She dumps it any place that's convenient. I have seen her dump it on the filthy floor of the public transport commuter train several times! I cringe but I don't say anything because it's her bag and none of my business, but now I understand how her original bag got in that condition! I am glad to see that she is using my gift but I wish that she took better care of it.

I didn't spend a lot of money on it, but I put time and effort into restoring it - and I became a bit attached to it - and it is an intrinsically beautiful bag. I wish it had gone to a better carekeeper, but it isn't mine anymore so I try to ignore the abuse.

Oh well, at least I know that the black Legacy Zip went to a good home and will be cared for.
