Love it!! She looks fantastic! I have the same bag in my "rehab" basket so now I"m excited to get started on her !!
I totally agree with you! I think the leather on the vintage bags is so thick, supple and gorgeous it is hard to compare with some of the newer bags. I am usually over on the Louis Vuitton forum and have done some rehabbing of Vuitton pieces already. I recently started dabbling in vintage Coach and got a gorgeous chocolate brown Lula's Legacy drawstring bag off of the 'bay. She didn't need much rehabbing but I couldn't resist applying a few coats of conditioner and polishing her brass. I was really impressed with how stunning the leather is. I got her for $49 and I must say she compares quite favorably with a $2,700 Louis Vuitton special order all vachetta Noe I had. Thanks! I love the smushy leather and the soft, gleaming patina of vintage leather coach bags!
I wish I could have seen one of the newly re-designed and recently released Coach Classics IRL. I am sure that they are nice, because Coach makes good-quality bags, but the leather looks sort of stiff and shiny in the photos, IMO. There are still some available from Net-a-Porter so maybe you can see what I mean:

I prefer the "soft richness" of my vintage/near-vintage rehabbed bags and I really like the price too!
Of course, rehabbed bags are not pristine, but for $15 and a little elbow grease, my new-to-me, made in the USA, Legacy Zip is a pretty nice bag!
And I get the satisfaction of bringing a fine object back to beauty and usefulness!

Needless to say I will be on the hunt for more vintage goodies to spruce up! Love all of your inspiring rehab posts by the way!![]()
I would love to post some pics of my new Lulu's Legacy--I'll try to snap some before work tomorrow! Thanks! I'd love to see some pics of your rehabbed Lulu's Legacy Drawstring!
I agree that vintage bags can be very lovely and I feel special when I carry them. If I couldn't afford a new designer bag every now and then, I would still be okay with carrying a lovely, rehabbed vintage bag - rather than a cheap, no-name "fall apart in no time!" bag.
Any woman can carry a beautiful bag; there's a large supply of vintage, used bags out there just waiting for a little TLC!

Amazing job, katev!! I am always so impressed with the results of your rehab projects!
Amazing results!
Beautiful!
Yes, the bag is very much like the Stewardess sizewise. Your sister will be thrilled!
Nice work Katev, the bag looks like new!
Wow you did a great job! The leather looks so soft and supple now!
