I just got the whiskey shoulder bag and love the sytle. The strap does fit comfortable on the shoulder but I wish it was a little longer. The satchel is beautiful piece and one I liked the most but you can get it on the shoulder but without a coat on. The Mandy was big and I do not like real big bags but also beautiful and fit the best on the shoulder. I have back and shoulder problems so I really have to watch what I buy. If i could carry the satchel better on my shoulder I would have gotten that piece.

While I am a Signature Girl at heart, I do have the shoulder bag (in signature/ebony) and the shoulder zip (leather) in white. They are both wonderful bags and I think they will go forward style-wise in the years to come.

As someone mentioned, even though the Shoulder Bag is heavy, it doesn't feel a bad because of the wide strap. The Mandy's strap is even wider and the one thing that kept me away from it (and I LOVE a big bag).

Also the Bloomie's in Stanford (Palo Alto, CA) had plenty of all the styles in whiskey.

Ahhh Drats! I had one Natural bag in my watch and as soon as I got home tonight I was going to BIN for 350. I had put a Best offer of 325 but was going to just go ahead and take the BIN If she hadn't responded. But someone in here that I won't mention her name...(Liz)...snagged it before I could get to it. LOL Oh well, hopefully another will come along.

Enjoy that bag Liz!

Lexie, I don't want the bag. They seller will not let me out of the BIN.
Can you please write her an email and tell her that you will buy the bag from
her so that she will refund my money. Please let me know if this works out.
I am sorry but I want that bag in another color.
thanks, Liz

I wrote her Liz. I can't seem to decide if I want a Whiskey or a Natural so either would be fine with me. Since I put in a Best Offer earlier in the day and she declined it I hope she can sell me the bag but I still be covered by ebay. If not maybe she will be kind enough to list the auction personally for me.
Let's hope it works out for both if us.

I like you strayed away from Coach for four years. I don't like or wear signature and Coach was not making anything that I liked. The shoulder
bag is a great bag and the leather is the vintage leather of Coach from
yesteryear. You should get the bag in any color you can get it in. Don't pay more than $398 for it though. I want to honestly tell you that I don't
particularly like anything at Coach right now except for the Legacy Line and
only the 65th Anniversary Collection. I have not cared for any of the other bags at all and I live in New York City and get to see them all as we have manyflagship boutiques in my city. Get the bag, although it is pricey you will not regret it. It is a timeless style that will never go out of fashion. The leathergets more beautiful with each wear and takes on a beautiful patina. I can attest to the Legacy 65th Anniversary Collection being the Best ever as I already have three bags in this collection.

Come back to Coach because it looks like for this collection they finally
got it right. Good luck deciding on a bag from the Legacy Collection.

I couldn't have written this better myself! I fell in love with Coach in the early 90's...and out of love with it when the signature stuff started to come out. It's just wasn't what Coach was about, IMO.

I even swore off of Coach due to the exclusivity of the PCE events....and despite being a long time collector, not qualifying for this event. :cursing:

But....it all changed when I made that step into the Coach store in Walnut Creek this past December so my niece could show me which bag she wanted my brother to get her for Christmas. I zeroed in on the whiskey Mandy....and I never looked back.

To me, the quality is every bit as wonderful as it was a decade ago. Thick leather, timeless style....I could go on and on. My heart is fluttering just thinking about my bags from the collection! :shame:

I still have all my Coach bags from back then, except for my Willis bag. They look brand new. The Legacy line has made me rethink and realize that I will someday take them out and use them again.

Lexie, I think you should take the plunge....get it now while you can. If you find you end up not caring for it before you use it, return it. But at least you can get one before they sell out.

Good luck!

I just got the legacy shoulder in pond - the leather does show marks easier than some of the other bags I have, but I think it is going to add character. ;)

I was having problems with it slipping off my shoulder, but that was w/o anything in it, so once I load it up - it shouldn't be a problem. Also, I have WIDE shoulders... we're talking linebacker here, so that might have something to do with it!!

All in all - I think the legacy line is gorgeous and even though I had started swaying away from Coach and going to other brands, I felt like I really needed (wanted) one of the legacy bags, because it really emcompassed what the brand stood for... sappy, huh? :graucho:

Not at all...I completely agree.

I don't want to offend others that love the "new" leather Coach styles and the signature line bags...but I think it's a shame that it changed so drastically in the past few years. I am sure that it isn't what the original founders of Coach would have wanted when they sold it over to Sara Lee years back. :shrugs: It all started when the founder saw how wonderful baseball glove leather was and how it stood the test of time...signature bags were no where to be seen.

But, I guess due the changes in fashion and the economy, Coach had to do what it had to do to boost sales. The signature line did just that.

I guess if it weren't for the changes Coach went through, we wouldn't be appreciating the beautiful anniversary collection now like we are.

Lexie, I just looked up the auction that you are referring to on ebay. The bag in the picture is whiskey, not natural as it is stated.

If you look on Coach.com on the zoom for the natural shoulder bag....the stitching is reversed from the natural, and identical to how the whiskey is.

Coach - LEGACY LEATHER SHOULDER BAG

Good luck, I hope you can work it out with her!!

I don't know if the auction showed the creed or not but another way to tell natural from whiskey in photos is the natural has a white creed patch and whiskey has a brown one.

The auction doesn't have a creed pic and I just noticed it is New Without Tags so the seller obviously guessed at the color.
Hopefully Liz will get this all worked out. She could always list the purse on ebay <wink wink hint hint>

I want to thank you all for welcoming me so warmly into the Coach Sub-forum. I never posted here before. I'm always stuck on the Main handbag board or Ebay board...or Dear God, the Deals and Steals...LOL You have been very nice to me especially since I admitted I was a Coach Defector. Hopefully a Legacy bag will change my mind and I can sing Coach's praises (about plain leather bags anyway).
