Yay! Thank you so much for posting.

I'm all dizzy now, looking at these two colors and wondering if I should have gotten that Tourmaline duffle when I had it in my hand at the outlet... :cray: Argh!

Comparing these two colors from your pics, I like them both, but I think I prefer the Robin's Egg for a duffle. Like you said, it looks a little more versatile, perhaps because it is a little more subdued.

Thanks again for the pic!

You definitely need to get something in Robin's Egg! I am thinking of getting a large wristlet (IF they make it!) I have no idea if that's even going to be available, but if it is, I want one! This is the first time I am finally loving the duffle style and I think a lot of it has to do with this color. And the fact that I have the strap at a desired length and just wear it on the shoulder. You need a Robyn's egg bag... STAT! The more I look at my robin wallet, I wish it was a different color with brass HW. :(

I really need some advice from ladies who own the regularly sized Coach Legacy Duffle and the Legacy Rory. Or anyone--I'm sure ya'll will know more about this than I do.

Soooo, since I'm a new member and unable to start a thread yet, I feel like this would be the most appropriate place to ask my question.

A few weeks ago I got the Legacy Rory in Cognac. I love everything about it. It is absolute perfection. The design is beautiful, the leather is amazingly smooth, and the color is the most wonderful reddish-brown. I am absolutely, beyond-words obsessed with the Cognac color on this bag.

However, I feel that it is a little bit too large for me to carry around on a day-to-day basis. It will be great for taking to class because I can fit my essentials, laptop, and even a textbook in it. It will also be great for travel when I need a bit of a larger bag. However, I feel that it is a little bit too large to be a work bag or for daily walking/errands.

I am considering purchasing a regularly-sized Legacy Duffle in Cognac for my day-to-day activities, since it is a bit smaller in size.

What do you ladies think of this idea? Do you think the size/look of these two bags would be too similar?

I won't have time to go to my local Coach store until this weekend or at the beginning of next week, but I figured I'd ask on here before I do that just to see what other people think of this idea. :sunshine:

First off, welcome!

I think the regular duffle and the rory are definitely different enough to justify having both. To me, the Rory is HUGE, and I would never be able to use it as an everyday bag. My regular duffle is the perfect size for everyday and I find to be quite a bit smaller than the rory. Hope this helps!

I have both and like them both ;) I love Rory for how big she is and I like duffle for how absolutely comfortable she is. I also have the candace in this color.

I have not used the cognac duffle yet (have the one from fos with a little "cellulite"). But I have 3 other duffles that are awesome.

I have 3 cognac bags so maybe i am not the one to talk to (had 4 before I returned the tanner today, that is HUGE)

Thank you so much! Your reply was very helpful, since I am really trying to convince myself that this idea of mine is not crazy! I think I'm definitely going to go through and try the Duffle on for size when I get a chance! :roflmfao:

Hahaha, yes another cognac lover! I already have a cognac wristlet and am considering getting more cognac goodies. This forum might be a "bad" influence in that way for me. :graucho:

I saw a photo of the cognac Duffle with the "cellulite" in another thread, and I don't think it looks bad at all. Just leather with a bit of a different texture.

But yeah, I agree with both of you, Rory is huge. My first experience with her was when I borrowed my mother's carnelian Rory to take on a trip. It was amazing how many things I could fit into it!

That's what inspired me to go and buy my own, and since they were completely sold out of the carnelian (I even called JAX), I ended up with the cognac. Now considering how much I love this color, I really do think it was the best color choice for me. :smile1:

They are both great bags! I like to wear my Rory with the strap doubled , as it stays on my shoulder well and I like the shape it becomes worn that way. I wear my large duffle with the strap doubled too for same reasons. But I like to wear my regular duffle as a cross body and it is very comfortable.

Did you see pics of the new Legacy East/West bag coming out? It comes in Cognac.

I have both, but not in the same colors. In my opinion, they are completely different bags. Rory is my daily work bag. I carry so much in her and its nice that I can hand carry, arm crook carry, and also with the long strap. She can get quite heavy, but it's okay. I don't double the strap.

The reg. duffle is an every day bag, along with my Molly. I switch those two around. The duffle, while tall, is not that wide so it doesn't seem nearly as big to me. I like her slouchy! And she is sooooo comfortable to carry! I used to just keep the strap long and carry over my shoulder, not cross body because no one needs to see that. But now I've doubled the strap and that's the only way I will carry. I love the wide strap!

So get both! They have very different purposes and are both very useful. Love them!

No, I haven't. Is it in the fall preview thread? I bet it's going to be gorgeous!

I was thinking the duffle just because I'd prefer it to be taller rather than wider, but I'll give this one a try when I go to the store, too! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. I agree with you...when I saw the duffle, it had a different feel to it because it wasn't that wide.

I hope to love the duffle just as much as you do. :smile1:

Duffle is more casual than ROry but not too casual that you could not pull it to work, etc.

I think the size will work good for you.

I personally would not get 2 bags in the same color, i love colors, variety and there is too much to choose from and too much I want. I would maybe picked sand or mahogany.
But that is me.

i personally LOVE LOVE LOVE both my Duffles and my Rorys. I use both as my daily/work bags and have no problem taking them out with me on the weekends.

Duffle (regular size): i love that i can fit everything (huge wallet, glasses, sunglasses, large wristlet, sometimes my ipad2, 3DS, misc small items, keys, phone) and it still fits and feels comfy. I'll wear it by the long strap on my shoulder, crossbody, or doubled all in 1 day. I like variety and this bag def. gives you that on top of carrying a lot but still keeping the look of a smaller bag and its COMFY.....i also own the color block duffle and i love that one too b/c of the extra slip pocket on the outside:graucho:

Rory: this bag is beyond huge!! i love carrying this bag so many ways too...doubled as a hobo, single strap on the shoulder, on the crook of my arm, and i'll even tuck the long strap underneath the bag to make it more of a slouchy satchel looking bag. i also own a colorblock Rory and its one of my favs b/c of the extra slip pocket ^_^ the details and extra pockets make me happy

the only problem i've encountered with either bag was with the Rory.....BUT dont get me wrong i love Rory to death too. Shopping with my Rory is a pain....it might have been heavy b/c of what i had inside and the thin strap of the Rory dug into my shoulder and it wasn't comfy. i've since learned to just take a duffle with me shopping instead b/c i can throw that sucker on crossbody and since its not as big as the rory it doesnt bother me :D

with all of that said (YIKES i know its alot LOL) i dont see a problem with owning 2 bags of the same color....its just like owning a bunch of little black dresses?? Cognac is beautiful and i cant wait to see how it'll look and feel down the road. I think they each have their own beauty that can justify having the same color but just in a different style.

Have you thought about wearing Rory as a satchel? I have 3 Rorys and I wear them all with the long strap tucked underneath the bottom of the bag (I don't think many people wear them this way) but I prefer it like this.
