There are some comparison shots/mod shots out there because I looked at them extensively before I purchased. I'll see if I can track them down for you.
The large is bigger, but not THAT much bigger IMO. I think most people prefer the regular size, but I actually like the Large size because they are slouchier. The leather is so soft that the large bag just molds to your body and doesn't look so big. Both sizes are gorgeous, though. I don't really like the Large size for crossbody because it does look too big IMO, and I only wear mine with the strap doubled. I think the regular size is more workable for crossbody and long strap wear. For reference I am 5'2.

Just wanted to share my little strap 'fix' for my Brown/Carnelian Duffle. I have a dark brown older outlet bag with an adjustable strap. I snagged the little leather piece used to secure the strap when it's doubled and slipped it onto my duffle strap:

It's a couple shades darker than the brown, but I love the end result of having the doubled strap secured together on the one end.
Looks great!! I wish I could find an option for my sunflower duffle strap.

tourmaline is a beautiful color and i wish i wouldn't have missed it. Maybe if it all flakes off it will look like a blind embossing. Sometimes I wish my duffle didn't have the foil on it.

Yeah, I contacted the seller and he apologized (sells a lot, was rec. by someone in the shopping thread). He offered to give me some money back (not a lot though), or I could try to return it to Coach, but I don't know how many they have in the system because I haven't seen it around/online in forever, or send it back to him. I would probably try to delicately scrape it off. It doesn't bother me either way if the foil is there or not, but it is the principle of the matter.
I do love it and the leather feels soooo good. I love purple, but I am not in love with most Coach purples, but blue is a close 2nd fav color which I love all the Coach shades.
If you are only going to wear it that way (my favorite way!), then I think either size would work.
Since I'm so short, I have the strap doubled and fastened on either the last or middle hole so that it is the shorter/shortest length if that makes sense. Otherwise the Large duffle hangs too low on my body.
I wonder if tape would pull it off if you could get it only on the foil but that might be hard to do. I tried to get glue off one time with a piece of a sticky roller and it pulled some of the metallic color off the strap! So if you try that be careful. Then again it might not be a good idea. I love purple as well! I have a duffle in UV and sunflower

I use a elastic ponytail holder. You can find them in almost any color, I think. I haven't actually looked for one to match my sunflower duffle yet.
