I found a tutorial online and taught myself how to make them. They're fairly easy to make, it's just time consuming and tedious. Here are two I made for myself:

I have one chan lau that's black, gold and silver. Then I have a bunch of different colored ones from club monaco. They look very similar to the CL's at a fraction of the price. My everyday one right now is rose and yellow gold and I love to throw my diamond tennis bracelet on with it, sometimes a few others too. I like to play.

I did the same thing- saw an awesome Chan Luu bracelet at the boutique and it was $200. I knew I could figure out how to make it-so I did.

My friend chose all the beads...it's hard to see from my iphone picture, but the beads are white/clearish and tan and a pop of very dark blue/purple beads that look more black in the picture. I need to find out where she had it made because it really is such a great gift!
