Thank you so much for the info! Now I can't wait to visit them.

Do you know how long Pickett's bespoke takes? I've contacted Launer asking if they could make my bag before I get there for delivery to my hotel, but I haven't followed up as my trip has been pushed back. I gotta figure out the good time to contact Pickett.

I think it depends on how busy they are with back orders but give them a call. Tim is very efficient and 'Julia'* is fantastic at Saville Row (if they still work there). Not all staff that work there are equally gifted ;) . Haven't talked to whoever is behind the website contact tel nr. yet.

*Not how you spell it but how you say it, it was very unusual spelling.

Thank you for all the info!

And lol "not equally gifted"

Yeah, my budget doesn't allow me to do croc in any brand unfortunately... not even a little Nancy Gonzalez for me atm :p
No spending 5 digits on a bag here... (not until I sell my business for multi-multi-millions anyway, lol)

However I do find most of their bags priced quite reasonably provided that quality lives up to the "Queen's favorite" reputation- for instance the pink lizard & calfskin one is $3100 and change, imagine how much a similar one from Chanel or Dior or God forbid, Hermes might go for?! :sweatdrop:

oh goodness, no neither could I. Though, i do agree i was surprised that the price points were not outrageous, i have seen much higher.

Wow!!! Any chance you might be willing to share a picture or two? If not at least some details- like what leather and what color? What was the custom order process like? How did you find out about it? That is so cool. I am sorry to be so nosy but I am just soooo curious!!!

Custom ordering was easy. Shipping to the US, also easy. I picked black lamb skin exterior and fuschia calfskin interior. It took about 4 weeks, but it was handmade and custom made for me. Pics coming. Beautiful! Can you use it as a checkbook holder also? I don't see that one on their website. Do you know what it is called, or style number? TIA!!

Hi Ladies, sorry it takes me so long to do this Launer Juliet handbag review. Well, this happens for a reason-I had been trying to contact their customer service regarding the quality issues of the Juliet handbag I ordered.

They sent me a bag with peels-off leather edges and mis-sewed lining with long fabric folds, clasp with dents and scratches and is somewhat asymmetrical in shape. To be fair, I sent them an email complementing their before-sale service and the leather quality and indicated the quality issues with photos. Their after-sale customer service is completely different from before-sale: my first email indicated the issues, no reply for ONE WEEK; then second email, replied as I had to ship it back to them. Alright, then I tried to ship back via USPS-no, maximum insurance coverage is $650; tried USPS, need original importation number (because USPS was the original carrier) or I will pay a second time custom duties and fees when the replacement/repaired one comes back in the US. I told them about this and suggested that I could get it repaired by their factory on my next trip to London, then guess what, NO REPLY at all.

I never got treated this way before, not from Louis Vuitton, Chanel or Hermes. When I indicated a quality issue to Hermes, I got replies no more than 24 hours. They even sent me a small gift when I bought something from them the next time. For US customer, think twice before you buy from this company because of their quality control, after-sale service and the troubles when you need to ship back for repair or replacement. Save up for the kelly is safer choice.

I don't know how to post a pic here?

Oh that's terrible! I'm glad I didn't order for them to ship to me. I inquired about doing an order so they can ship to my hotel in London and they dropped off the face of the earth. No reply after initially answering if that was even possible. (You can place an order for shipment, that is, if they ever get back to you on what you actually want to order)

Perhaps communication through email isn't their strong suit.

I'm sorry that happened to you. My Launer purchases have been flawless, absolutely gorgeous quality. I hope you get a replacement. I had wonderful email service, and loved picking all my own leather and colors. The key with Launer I think is to pick leathers and colors that require your bag or wallet being totally custom made for you. If you buy leather and color that is stock, you risk getting something where they didn't take as much time. Mine took like six weeks to make, but I picked interior and exterior leather, and the hardware. It helps to talk to them personally on the phone too. If you make a connection that's everything. They are a small company. Things are made by hand when they are custom. The quality on mine is as good as any Hermes. And the Queen could easily buy Hermes. She's given her Royal Seal to Launer. The Royal Seal is not easily given out. 90% of the Queen's bags over the years have been and still are Launer. That says a lot. Pick an exotic interior, lizard or something. Only a hundred or so extra, but they will put their heart in it. Especially if you call them and are really sweet.

Realize too that if you pick a lambskin Handbag it's really really fragile leather. It can nick or tear in packing or even one use, especially on a corner. I think the bag this person posted was really pretty. You would need a magnifying glass to see tiny rubbing. New Chanel lambskin is the same way. That said, Launer emailed me 2 weeks after I received my last wallet to be sure I loved it. Chanel never does anything like that. My next purchase will be a new Launer with fuschia lizard interior.

Yes. It holds a checkbook easily. I'll take a picture later for you. The style is still on the site, but I picked my exterior and interior leather and colors. My hardware isn't stock. I asked for it because I had seen the horsebit on one of the Queen's handbags. So I called and asked really pleadingly. I was pitiful really. But they were SO nice.
