Large Tote Recommendations

I have a black GM St. Louis that I carried for 2 years every day to protect my Chanel tucked inside and I did get some rubbed and thin parts due to wear in the corners. I used canvas tape to reinforce. lol Not fancy, but it worked. Have since got a few replacements. Addictive they are.

I'm actually looking for a bag like the one described, but Neverfull size probably works.

But could I ask how people here view the Neverfull and the really loud branding? Is the checkered version more liked, or do people feel LV is a bit overdone?

Looking for a bag for someone who doesn't like loud branding.

I was hoping I could get some recommendations for large work totes (contemporary or luxury is fine). I carry the following items: laptop, iPad Air, a stack of papers, LV agenda gm, bento box, water bottle, and then mini pochette, cardigan (at times), wallet, six ring key, and other odds and ends including my phone. I’ve tried the following totes and found them all to be too small:

Neverfull MM (I’m not so crazy about the obvious branding for a work bag)
Tory Birch Perry Tote
Longchamp Le Pilage
Cuyana Structured Tote
Marc Jacobs Large Tote Bag (I could make the size work, but, I found the bag shape weird)

I think I’m looking for a tote that is the size of the Neverfull GM, but I’d like to find something with less obvious/recognizable branding if possible. Light weight is a bonus. I’ve also tried MZ Wallace’s totes, but find their lack of structure unusuable. What other totes are it there that I’m overlooking?
I really like my Goyard GM St. Louis. It's very subtle branding (those who know, know), lightweight, flexible, and goes with everything. https://www.goyard.com/us_en/sac-saint-louis-gm.html I have black/black and yellow. I also have a Villette Tote Bag MM Green Goyardine. Buying pre-loved is also the way to go - just make sure authentication is included.

I've yet to buy anything from Italic — they offer "atelier-grade essentials from the same manufacturers as top brands with zero markups and logos", but I know of an awful lot of people who are fans, especially of their home goods (I'm not affiliated). The founder has changed the business model a few times; I think they initially required membership to purchase (this was a turn-off for me), but now it's optional.

Anyways, heck, for $195 ($180 if you're a member of Italic Bold), you'd have nothing to lose by trying this one (from Prada and Miu Miu manufacturers). Sleek and clean with no branding
Editing to add that it might require an organizer to give it the structure you're looking for, but the flat bottom makes it interesting.

Here's some more info about Italic
That's a really cute tote and what a great price!

I dislike visible branding, and I struggle even with the checkered damier prints.
Would suggest another brand like Aspinal of London, Osprey or Longchamp.

stupid question, but why is the Neverfull so well liked even by people who don't like it for the loud branding? is there something about the shape or how it feels?

also, is there a boutique or small maker that makes nice leather totes unbranded? have to admit that even a guy can enjoy feeling Hermes leather on a bag!

Neverfull is so lightweight, roomy and it's canvas, so basically indestructible. It also used to be very much worth it's price. Now - not so much IMHO.

I ended up buying a large Liz tote from MCM (in the black so the logo isn’t that obvious), specifically because if shared most of the same qualities as the Neverfull but is now a third of the price. I love the gm Neverfull, but I can’t get past 2k + tax for that bag.

Smart choice! I really like the black color, too. And the price is acceptable, you can literally get several bags for the same money that you'd pay for one LV canvas bag.

My workhorse tote workbags are two Marcellas by Gianni Chiarini.

Marcella Gianni Chiarini

I have a yellow black tartan one and this one. They come with a inner pouch are not so expensive, very sturdy and fit a ton. You can also personalize them.

The other totes I like, but haven‘t bought yet are by Loup Noir. They have different styles and I love the pinkish horse print.

Edit: Ups, just saw a bit late for my suggestions…

These threads stay on here for others to take hints from later on. Gianni Chiarini is a nice brand, and I really like that tote with the initials on it! Does the personalization cost extra?

I also prefer structured bags as totes.
Senreve. The good thing about their larger bag is that there is built in laptop compartment and many other compartments. I know they have somewhat bad rep in TPF but I love my maestra. They have a couple of tote models.
Massacessi Davina
Mulberry bayswater
If you aren't averse to 2nd hand market, LV in Suhali leather Ferragamo Arianna/Verve Proenza Schouler PS1
I am thinking about going the resale route to get a mini maestra. It would be an every day carry. Because of what I do for work, I have a separate laptop bag with all the accessories I need- I wouldn't want to try and cram it all into one bag. Has your Maestra worn well?
