Kooba Sienna...How can you tell?

I don't think it's real either... I was looking for Kooba bags a while ago and did see this seller on eBay that you mentioned. She has sold a number of Siennas and all a couple of hundred below retail. She had a Chloe Paddington listed at one time which had a starting bid of $399. Now, not that a low starting bid is an absolute indication of a fake, but it should ring some alarm bells at least.

Also, the pics she uses for the Siennas looks like her standard pics for all her Sienna listings, so not pics of the individual specific bag you're getting. Again, alarm bells.

Wow I am really chagrined but have to share what I learned. I bought a luggage Sienna on EBAY that had the 1974222 metal snap so I was sure it was real -- until it came. (The one from Active Endeavors had this number so thought it was a clear signifier of authenticity) I had previously just ordered what I think was the last luggage Sienna from Kooba directly. It has a snap that says Romag 5722126. It has no "made in---" tag inside whatsoever. I was going to send it back and keep the one from EBay -- I had even gotten the RMA -- but when the EBay one came and I compared --OMG -- what a difference! The tassels were not as thick. The leather was not as thick or soft (though it wasn't bad, looked at by itself). The EBAY bag wasn't even as tall as the one from Kooba. I consider myself to be really really chastened by this. Oh and the best part -- the one from EBAY was missing one of the covers on the rivets. I really thought I had become an "expert" on the luggage Sienna and I was so wrong! I am just so glad I have the one from Kooba!

That leather does not look at all right. The seller is selling Kooba's awfully cheap. I paid over 425 for both of mine. The leather pull or the metel pull on the inside of the bag are both okay depending on which season. My Kooba has the USA TM on the magnetic snap and the tag was attached by brown string (which from what I have read is the only acceptable tag). The seller has a bag up that seems to have the tag attached by a plastic tab thingy. Kooba leather is undeniably luscious. Not shiny or scrunchy. I bought both of mine from ebay but I paid the higher price and bought from only authentic dealers who own high end boutiques or buy from NM. Unfortunately in my search fro my Kooba's there were only about 3 people I would have been willing to deal with thus the higher price tags. How can you sell a 600 dollar bag for 300 and make a profit? Here is a pic of my Cognac Marcelle. Maybe you can tell the difference.
