Well bummer...today I actually carried my Kirby for the first time and the handle came off on one side of the bag. I've already contacted CS for a replacement since I bought directly from the MK website. I really love this bag so I hope this is just a one time issue. I've got 6 MK bags and never had a issue before. Hopefully it will work out ok.

Oh no, hopefully just a factory flaw, they should replace it no problem and then you can back to enjoying her :)

I'm sorry, I just saw your questions. I have not yet received a replacement. I was out of town for work and just sent it back to MK on Saturday. As far as the base, I bought it on eBay a long time ago for another bag and it just happened to fit. There are many folks who sell the base shaper or base inserts. You can sometimes find people who custom make it to the specific size you need. 👍🏻😊
