Key holders/pouches, PITA or not?

That’s beautiful. Are you going to put keys in there? Are you sure they will fit?
Yes, it'd be for my keys mainly and from what I've seen you can fit quite a bit in them (they're 8.5 x 8 cm.). I might get another one for actual coins but don't want to get carried away which would be easy with all the pretty colours available. At least on the EU Hermès site, the US site has less choice, I think.

Here's a lovely lady on YT unboxing a Bastia and showing what can fit inside, keys for ex.:

Are you in the city? That’s when I used my 6 key holder more. Kept my keys (minus car key 99% of the time) ID & T pass in there. It wasn’t a pain at all to use. I still rotate it into use because it’s pretty [emoji258]
I'm about 20 minutes from Boston but do go often. Tha K's for your reply!

I'm thinking of getting one of these, mainly to protect my other SLGs from getting scratched by my keys.(Which never even happened yet.)
But they seem inconvenient, you have to open them then get the key out instead of just grabbing the keys. Do you all find them to be worth it? I know it probably only takes a few seconds but at night I'd think having my key ready right away would be better. Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to buy another SLG. What are your thoughts?
I take public transportation, so I actually use my key pouch to hold my house keys and my transit pass. I love pouches in general because it's easy to switch bags and find things - if you have the pouch, you have everything you need! It's worth it to me!

I have an awesome Coach pouch which I've been loving, but the zipper is slow when you're in the public transport rush. I do prefer the pouch style to the key holder style, as it's less fussy to use a pouch and it's more compact. I keep my keys on a ring and I've memorized which key is which so it's not a hassle. I pull the ring out of my pouch and voila!

I am thinking of getting this OAD cardlet - I like the ease of snaps, and I like that one side can be used for keys and the other for transitpass/work ID!

I have bought a couple of cles pouches, but my car key fob is far too big to fit in them, so I just throw my keys in loose. I wish there were something made to fit the bigger fobs on cars these days, but not something huge either.

I've been using my pouch and it is working out quite well!
Love the cardlet!

I know, most cars do have bigger key fobs, doesn't make sense.

Not a huge Gucci fan, but I bought this key pouch about 1.5 years ago and I have not regretted it ever since. Extremely thick and sturdy leather, still looks brand new (inside has some scratches from the keys) and I use this every day, dropped it a few times as well .

I've seen people keep their car key outside the keyholder like this:

Especially useful when your car key is the folding type.
Also, if your car is of the modern sort that opens and starts without putting the key into a lock there are separate key fob holders like this:

Heehee, then why would I need a cles holder, lol??!:confused1::biggrin: I’m saying that all in good humor!! I buy a key holder and it can’t even hold my biggest most important key? That’s the one I need the most protection from gauging things in my purse, etc. I only carry with me 3 keys total: house, mail, car. This has been my problem with key holders. My car fob would have to stay sticking out. Maybe they will start making cles holders to fit modern day fobs.

If your car key is the type that doesn't fold in on itself, then I think a Chanel O Key Case, LV Empreinte Clés or a regular Pochette Clés would probably fit it. All are more flexible than a key holder with several rings and a snap button closure.

I was just going to reply that the LV empreinte cles fits large car key fobs perfectly with room for other items like cards and coins. I love mine!

Thank you for the recommendation. I have a Gucci one just like the LV Pochette cles, and it’s too small. Paid for it and never used it, sitting new in the box. Waste of $600. I need to find time and a good place to sell it. I have a Chanel zip around card case, but my keys won’t fit. I use it as my wallet. I have a “no brand” small pouch, but it takes up too much space in most of my bags. I’ll continue looking. Would you happen to have a photo of the Chanel O case you think might be a good fit?

I see. It looks like it opens up wider than the regular cles since it snaps rather than zips. And it costs more than double. I’ll at least take a look at it next week when I go to LV.

There are several review videos on Youtube. For example ths woman has her Audi fob in her O Case and it fits easily:

The LV Empreinte is so fab, you can fit pretty much anything in it. Recommending Youtube once again, several good reviews on this pouch as well!
