I'm thinking of getting one of these, mainly to protect my other SLGs from getting scratched by my keys.(Which never even happened yet.)
But they seem inconvenient, you have to open them then get the key out instead of just grabbing the keys. Do you all find them to be worth it? I know it probably only takes a few seconds but at night I'd think having my key ready right away would be better. Maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to buy another SLG. What are your thoughts?

Key holders/pouches are completely worth it! Some of my SLGs would get scratched, or my phone, or sometimes even the bag material from taking my keys in and out.

the keys attach to the key holder so it's pretty easy to find and you would just have to unbutton it. I have 2 key holders a Chloe one and the LV key cles, which can double as a coin purse/card holder.

Is the LV the 6 key?

I have a 6 key Gucci holder & an LV key pouch, But my car key is big & fat & does not fit properly in the 6 key so I’d have the car key attached but sticking out & the other keys inside. This was great when I lived in the city & did not regularly carry my car key. I’d just leave the car key off. Now I need it almost all the time so I prefer the key pouch. The 6 key could also hold my ID & one other card without really stretching it.

With my key pouch I do not put the keys in... I leave them attached outside & have ID & cards/cash in it. It is of my favorite things - can just grab & go if running quick errands, no purse needed. I like it better than the 6 key. I often leave my purse at work during lunch & just run out with my key pouch. Highly recommend - regardless of brand. They’re just so useful I find. Also great in a small bag instead of a wallet.

I LOVE your key pouch!
I have been doing the same with mine, maybe it's all I need?

I use the LV cles and it’s great. I have the keys hanging out and all essential cards. To be honest I sold all my other purses because I find I didn’t use them and nothing is as good as having everything in one place. Also I found that while I love SLGs I don’t like changing from one SLG to another. I have a six key holder as well but I find that the cles is just more useful. I do like the sound of opening and closing the key holder though. So satisfying.

I'm also thinking about adding a key pouch/holder. Right now I'm set on an Hermès Bastia and religiously checking the available colours on their website, for my preferred colours.

LV have nice key holders as do Chanel, but I want something really small that will make the keys easily available to take out for just putting in my jeans pocket etc, so they can't be attached to the key holder. A Bastia seems like a good solution for me right now. And it can double as a cash/misc. purse when I need that.

That’s beautiful. Are you going to put keys in there? Are you sure they will fit?

A key holder is SO worth it! I started using one about 6-7 yrs ago and I'm never going back to leaving my keys out and about. My wallets and other SLG have survived with almost zero wear, also jacket pockets haven't suffered. They usually get rips because of keys.

I've been using a Lancel key holder for the last 3-4 yrs. It's black leather and it's very much like a LV Pochette Clés, only it has a place for a card inside. I keep my bus card in it so I don't have to dig out my wallet every time I get on a bus.
I don't find using the key holder much of an effort. Whenever I'm at work I leave my work keys outside the pouch for easy access.
